I have never liked Mitch LaFon but I do listen to Three Sides on occasion. I like Mark Chiccini and find Tommy and Mike kind of harmless. I don't agree with their VV stance at all - espeically now since VV did the interview with them. That being said, wasn't Mitch on there before Mark? I was surpris...

There is a fairly large guitar show a few times a year in CT. It’s in a concert venue’s adjoining expo space. One year they had a concert in there as well. Maybe tie in with that? It’s the southeast guitar show iirc.

I have a couple of Ed’s guitars. A Quicksilver that blows away my Lawsuit 10 top PRS Singlecut and a Thinline Tele. Knew him from CT and a character for sure.
Very sad that Lyndsay was found dead alone in the desert less than a year after Ed passed. He was a proud single dad who really lived her.

I recently watched Hirsh Gardner’s interview with Three Sides of the Coin. After buying the Warrior demos without knowing they’re bootlegs I have to say this guy is a complete clown. First off, the drumming on those demos is the weak point. Gary Shea and Jimmy Waldo are competent musicians. Vinnie i...

He can obviously still play, he did the acoustic thing at the first convention and honestly I enjoyed that more than I would a shred fest. The guy is a brilliant songwriter/composer. I am a fan of VV but I have to say the Warrior stuff sounds like a killer guitarist, singer, songwriter with a mediocre band. I agree with a solo acoustic tour. It could be like Ray Davies did before the book X-Ray came out. Vinnie could talk about a few stories that would tease the book, play some songs written from around the time of the story (example, play a Laura Nyro song or something he wrote around that time) and r...

Re: Has anyone ever spoken to Chuck Onkst?
Yeah, I would think so. In Bobby's book he sounds like he was pretty down to Earth. He's also mentioned in ASG (and maybe the first record) as modding Vinnie's amps. He would be a great person for someone to do a Q&A with, as he was def in the studio for the recording as well as out on tour working ...

Has anyone ever spoken to Chuck Onkst?
According to a lot of people (from Milanio to the liner notes, to Bobby Rock's book) there was a guy named Chuck Onkst who modified VV's amps and also was on tour throughout ASG. Bobby also notes that the amps on stage were not what was actually being used. I was wondering if anyone has ever spoken ...

The Duncan Convertible amps look like what he's using. Jeff Beck endorsed these around the time he was playing the orange and white Jackson that kind of looked like the much less expensive Charvel Spectrum. I always assumed JB was a big influence on VV so maybe that's why the Convertible showed up t...

He seems to like the non-fine tuner Floyd Rose trems. I remember a black Charvel being sold at the auction with one and it looks like the Carvin has been retrofitted with one, as I'm pretty certain that the Carvin models he's played in the past have (IIRC) had the more modern type. If you look close...

Anyone else read Bobby's book 'The Boy is Gonna Rock' yet? I read it in one sitting yesterday and most of it deals with the VVI years. Being a Berklee alum I was hoping more would deal with Bobby's time there, but it was a great read. Highly suggest everyone check it out.
