Re: New Swedish documentary tries to find Vinnie
As a Swede: yep, the metalsludge thing pretty much sums it up, but I actually enjoyed it ( the show) for what it is, it has a different slant to it than the normal rockumentaries does, a bit more matter of fact and humane maybe...the ups and downs of running a band for so many years kinda thing. Any...

In addition, I`m also wonering if that 59 Les Paul still has its original PAF´s on it and if indeed
those PAF´s (or stock type Alnico2 pickups) were on the guitar while recording KISS / VVI guitar tracks ?
thanx!

Re: Vin's Lesser Known Gear
Great post about the guitars used etc,! But, I would like to point out thou there´s a factual error in the discription to the Music Man amps, they actually utilize a Solid State Pre-amplifier section and a tube driven Power Amp Section, 6L6´s, not the other way around. I know since I used one (70´s ...

Ok, when you say, "This Lick it Up Demo with VV vocals+solo", Question, Is that track number: "15. Lick It Up (Demo).mp3 (2.49 MiB) Downloaded 20 times" that you are talking about? I dunno, to me it sounds like a live (soundboard) recording from a Kiss-convention or something ? tribute band? I might...

Re: The Fonz! Happy Days music..anybody know?
I gave it a spin this morning, I think the only place where possibly V is playing is the last songs on side 1, the Fonz songs..
There´s a clean Fender type rhythm guitar there, only thing that could be V, but most likely not..the rest of the tracks, granted, is typical old 50s hits.

You probably have to ponder the fact that the character "Vinnie Vincent" or Cusano possibly does not exist anymore..a personality change of sorts, to what or who I have no idea..but it seems that person/character you see in Kiss and Invasion videos from the 80´s and up to mid 90´s is no longer aroun...

cool. I dont want to be too critical and annoying here but there´s actually a few notes that could be changed, like opening phrase the highest note in the lick is actually not the minor (18th fret) but a major note (19th fret), whether you hit the 19th or bend up to it quickly..then go down the scal...

Lets just say: you need a really "open" ear to get Vinnie´s playing and concepts..I like to think I do..hehe..
But for the casual listener, it is pretty "out there" at times... Its a free world, one can play any way one wishes, right.

its from the remastered cd, ( my personal CD) slowed down about 6 percent, tuning it to A440 ( concert pitch, pitch fork).
big file, not much compression, if any?, wave. you should be able to hear all the nuances of the instruments/music well, etc..

yep, it sounds more natural to me this way, BUT, I actually think the song benefited from getting sped up, yes, it became a better opening song at a somewhat faster tempo..allbeit, after the fact, after it was recorded/tracked.. Also, I play it traditional classical style, P ima, thumb and 3 fingers, V plays "hybrid Picking" = pick (plectrum)and fingers.. I do not master that technique, it probably sounds more right if done hybrid..

Ok, well.. Im still sticking with my point, "Boys" was sped up close to a half step. meaning, the Master Tape during the mastering process was sped up ever so slightly to give that first song an "over the top" sound, maybe they thoght it was recorded a little too slow for an opening song and just li...

I think it has been mentioned before but you can actually slow down the tape in the studio After you have tracked the basic rythm-tracks at regular tuning (concert pitch 440) so rythm tracks are now at E flat, slowed down. Then: re-tune your guitar to E-flat, then track/overdub your solos to a slowed...
