Vinnie's Elementary School

Post by BigEd »

This is Vinnie's beloved "Shelton School" ...grades 1-6th if my facts are correct, It eventually closed after many years and the upper floor and clock tower were destroyed by a fire set by vandals. The building was restored to its original specs being a historic landmark and eventually made into condominiums, Vinnie really had fond memories of this place and personally asked me to take a picture of this school for him...I quote him "I would do anything Ed, to see a picture of my old Shelton School again" Image

That's as big as Hogwarts!! (The Wiz-Hogwarts get it?)
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

Definitely looks upper-class to me.
Kind of reminds me of the old mental institutions that are no longer standing....great architecture in those buildings sadly....

Its always nice to go back to happier times like your childhood. Vinnie once told me he likes to draw and he would use his school for scenery. He also told me he was picked on as a kid until they heard him play the guitar.

I'm sure most of Vinnie's teachers are either to old to remember or have passed away by now...but from the pictures I have seen of Vinnie when he was around 6-8 yrs old, he was a very handsome well groomed little boy. Vinnie and his band had a performance at this school and I'm sure the teachers and the other students realized they he was a extremly gifted young man. A few years ago Vinnie made contact with his favorite teacher, they spoke over the phone and talked about the good old days...the teacher had been sick and Vinnie was upset about that but yet he was happy he had the chance to talk to the teacher and say how much he meant to him...Ed

Ed this is a very tough question but so many people wonder why vv didn't take his daughters after the tragedy ? It's very hard thing to understand. Do you know any reasons ?
