Love the way Vinnie's autograph is the only one in gold!

I always thought Gene's tongue looked "enhanced" in that photo.

Eric's autograph looks different from what I've seen in the past.

Eric's autograph was pointier and more dramatic.

He had a very different signature in the begining that was refined into the sleek looking
autograph we are used to in later years.

You are correct. It probably took him a while to write his "new" name comfortably.

Another item to share... Vinnie's larger than life signature... Obtained at the Chicago Kiss convention many years ago... :D :D

When I was a kid I used to dream of vinnie and Eric forming a band.
Eric was underated and more than any other 80s drummer he knew how to get the best sound. I never heard flat generic drums from Eric.

I think Eric Carr was the most fluid drummer I have ever listened to. His hi-hat work, rolls and drum fills were SO smooth. Not only keeping amazing time but hitting the drums hard and making it all seem effortless. He just glided around the kit. Just thinking of his playing makes me both happy and sad at the same time.

I play drums and I call my style "HACK AND SLASH". It's choppy and broken. I'd give up a nut to be able to play like Eric!

Eric Carr was awesome.
He even made electronic drums cool.
Got to give Eric Singer props, though.
His drumming on Revenge is brutal.

I disagree...and I know I am alone in this thinking...because I think Singer overplayed on Revenge. Too many fills. The fills were too busy. I know! I know! "Heavy metal drumming is supposed to be like that." But I argue that KISS is not a heavy metal band. KISS is a rock band...leaning more towards harder rock...but not metal. Rock music is more groove and tempo based, focusing more on the song and less on the individual playing techniques.

What he played he played well. I just felt it was inappropriate for KISS. I think the album might have been more accessible to new fans (ie, radio friendly) if the drums weren't so "in your face". I think Revenge might've aged better with drums that weren't so genre specific.

And don't take this as me saying I dislike Revenge. I just wish it had more of a classic KISS sound.

Interesting debate. I know a lot love revenge drums some don't. I love overplaying but i kind of agree with both of you. Carr for sure was a happy medium. I don't mind revenge and alive iii drums but since then I do not like singers drum sound one bit. I loved singer in badlands, Alice cooper and the Paul stanley tour. I kind of feel that his taste has changed since and for the worse. I blame some of the modern drum trends and manafacturing plus the tight tuning that has taken some soul out of drums in my opinion.

Maybe I am just an old fart.
