I really don't think it was Gene.
Gene has , for the most part, always been PRO-Vinnie.
Most of the turmoil comes from Paul and his fragile ego.

I really like that photo a lot.

Yes i agree gene more sympathetic to vv.
Couldn't imagine vv working on animalize with paul producing and gene barely around. If like some people say vv was ready to work on animalize I guess genes absence could have seen the end but I still don't think that gene was interested in saving him either.

Interesting point . I never thought of it that way.

Paul was so jealous of Vinnie and pushing to get rid of him that Gene became disinterested in Kiss and was only trying to save HIMSELF at that point by pursuing a new career avenue.

It makes perfect sense.

Yes and Paul figured he could mold his own guitar virtuoso with St. John... backfired on him.

Now that you guys are mentioning all this, I can see it a bit clearer. I was watching the unedited "Night Flight" interview, and it's pretty obvious to me that Paul doesn't care for Vinnie.
