Red Charvel 1

Post by mylittleguitar »

Same as the Black Charvel, here is the red one. I don't know if this neck version is the first or if it's the other.

Excellent !!!! I thought that was an actual guitar .

I believe Vinnie was the first to have EMG pickups AND a Floyd Rose on a guitar. A staple of Rock guitar ever since.

I read EMG's were on steinbergers in 1981. Steinburgers were very popular in Europe. But you are correct VV may have been the first guitar player to use them in a famous band

The Maple one piece neck that was on it had a Jackson logo on the headstock....

In my opinion that red "strat style" guitar that he used on the C.O.T.N tour had at least 3 photographed different neck changes. The pics I posted show 2 of the 3 .... The pic of the 3rd one I have on a poster and it doesn't look like a Charvel or Jackson logo but it's a logo that I do not recognize .

I'm not sure that Grover Jackson had his logo in 1982 - 83, he was still working for Charvel. For the logo with the ebony fretboard, I think it's the very early Charvel logo.

I agree mylittleguitar does a awesome job on these..... On the Jackson logo, I think it was one of the 1st Jackson logo's ...I'll check my pic file to see if i have a better, mofre clear shot of it.... but if you look close, I think you can see it's not the Charvel logo

That's not a Charvel logo as we know it, and the Charvel logo was around since the 70's. The Jackson logo was available as Randy's guitars were built and they featured it.

Randy Rhoads********Grover had the basic Jackson logo in 1981 when both of these guitars were built.

Like I said some guy who.worked with vv at we buy guitars or whatever it was called said this guitar was built across the street. I don't think it started out life as a charvel but who knows. The logo is certainly.different.

So, that means I have to make another Red Charvel and change the logo on the maple neck
That's why I want to make his guitars in miniature, it's easy to complete his gear and to have all the variant of his guitars. It could be great if he accepts to speak about it... I'm actually doing this with Bruce Kulick, he's very nice and take the time to answer to all my questions.

He did mention it in private but not in detail. He just said it was a guitar he never liked and used it while other guitars were being worked on.

Yes Rick, I believe the Jackson logo on that 1 piece maple neck is of the early handpainted variety... The one with the large "J" and large "K" similar to the logo that is on the headstock of the white Concord V that is in the pic of Randy that you posted. For some reason the pics that I posted are no longer visible to me?
Vic, any Idea why? Can everyone else see them ?

I just create a Facebook for my miniatures guitars https://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Littl ... 0104602691
Please share it with your friends. I’m still proposing making highly detailed miniature guitars and basses guitars. This page will be often updated, a lot of stuff to show.

It was an assembled guitar of different parts! Does anyone even know if it was in fact Charvel or Jackson parts on it? Maybe it just had a Charvel sticker on the head, then a Jackson sticker (maybe was a Jackson made neck) when it had it's neck replaced???

It's the same as charvel san dimas and other pro models. the body ist too shaped. I will get a customized body without any shapings, an original charvel neck, floyd rose trem  and the EMGs seperately. It WILL work, you'll see...

the red body with white pickup is almost 50s looking. the more I look at it the more I like it. It can cross over to a 60s garage band as well as rock.
