kiss ballads

Post by doublev2 »

Favourite kiss ballads.

Not sure if some qualify as ballads though

1= tonight you belong to me (is it a ballad)?
1= I still love you
3 a million to one (is it a ballad)?
4. Going blind
5. Sure know something (but not sure it's a ballad either)

Great picks, Dino... here are mine:

1. A Million To One (yes, a power ballad and Vinnie's solo rocks)
2. Always Near You/Nowhere To Hide (love the opening chords)
3. Nowhere To Run (should've been played live on Creatures tour. Great Bob K. solo)
4. Tears Are Falling (killer Bruce solo too)
5. Odyssey (love Paul's simple but effective guitar solo)
6. Back On The Streets (from COTN with Vinnie and Paul trading lead vocals... Carr pounding the drums and Gene insisting Cusano's ankh face be on the album cover... oh well, a guy can dream :D

Thanx Kev!

I almost said Only You. Of course A World Without Heroes and Paul's solo rule. Also Under The Rose and Peter's I Can't Stop The Rain are good ones.

Yeah, I believe all four of the new Killers tracks were just Bob, Eric and Paul (with Paul handling bass too).

"Feels like Heaven"!!!! That's a ballad isn't it?
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

I will agree from the standpoint that this is most likely the most honest and heartfelt song Paul has ever written.
A few of us are lucky enough to understand this tune.

Nothing from Carnival Of Souls has been played live. Kiss had moved on to the reunion already and COS got left behind.

Although I can understand someone relating to the lyrical content of I Will Be There, it along with Forever and Every Time I Look At You just never did anything for me. Can't say it's cause they're sappy cause I love Hold Me, Touch Me (and Paul's Lukather-type-phrasing-guitar solo).

I won't even mention that crap ballad Peter had to sing on Thycho Thircus or that cheese fest from the DRC soundtrack.

Amen.HMTM is a classic in my ears. I catch myself singing the opening line a lot.

As for ,'I Will Be There', although it isn't a favorite of mine,I respect the lyrics as well as the brilliant acoustic playing by Paul and Bruce. Great performance.
SUBSTANCE that you can enjoy on every spin.

Forever was pain for me. I remember it had lots of mtv play and I would switch off. I was a huge kiss fan as well.
