- Ace Frehley Announces New Album "Space Invader"




We are excited to announce the new album SPACE INVADER, Ace's first new solo album in five years, via E1 Music on June 24th, 2014.
The album will include at least nine brand new original songs as well as a cover of Steve Miller Band’s “TheJoker.”

An official statement from Ace surrounding the exciting news:
“Life on Earth has been very good to me, and the body of work I’ve created over the years has withstood the test of time. Today I see no obstacles before me and my creativity has never been more fine tuned. Growing up in an Alien world has enhanced my senses and allowed me to succeed where others would have failed. The best is yet to come!”

We haven't been teased for months that new music is ready, and now it will be released and it will happen.

How easy is that? Even Ace can get new music out.

New "old" music from Ace. It's the same like his solo album from 1978...same structure same sounds and effects...but it still rocks and he sounds better than Paul with his voice!

Great voice - he should become lead singer of Kiss ... He's got a real guitar style of his own. It's nice to hear from him today, especally when I think about him twenty years ago. I saw Ace in a Kiss convention in 1995, and that was a catastrophe. He was drunk, people were really angry at him, they were so disappointed. I thought what a wreck, and I didn't stay that long. I remember he wore vinyl pants and there was a pretty young blond woman with him. Rock and roll!

Seriously, Do we want him to sound like a different guitarist ? Fuck, Even Steve Vai is repetitive.
I would rather listen to Ace than Vai any day anyways.
PLUS, We get to hear the word, "FUCK".

I think for the first time in a long time that he is playing a little better here. It was a better song than solos but at least he is filling a lot on this particular tune. It is true that both his voice and Gene's are as good or better than they were 30 years ago.

Chuck Berry Licks + Pentatonics + Chromatic scales = the playing on this song. I will buy the recording but I hope that he shows something more than this if he can.

I think that the dynamic that he has going on here with Ritchie Scarlet in the mid 80's is one of his better songs and better playing away from Kiss. Ritchie is a solid rock player and IMO better than Ace.

Not original and already heard 1000 times! When we see the titles that he was able to compound(made up) as "Rock Soldiers", "Breakout", "Dolls", "Insane", " Shot Full house of Rock ", " Lost in Limbo ", "Sister" or " Word Are Not Enough " more some fabulous demos not used and what he takes out to us that with quite the muck that he was able to rocked his last words and years by saying that he is the best, it gives me to smile and it is a little bit short! I hope that this title does not reflect the album has to come and that some beautiful surprises will come has our ears! I believe in it not too much but hope well and have well!
I is never been in a fan attitude and when it is more that way it is necessary to say it, I had not more been soft with singles Modern Day Delilah and Hell or Hallelujah of 2 last ones Kiss!
But when I see on the net of ayatollahs Frehleyien roaring in the genius of the title and offending Tommy Thayer, me says that we have not the same passion, this guaranteed by Ace, it makes for me piled!!!

In the daytime or Ace will become again on earth with the good music and a less important melon, I would say it, but it is not the case! Has he of us shown the opposite!

If the rest of the album is like this.... we can all start working on our jump shot !!!

Bitter to have listened to him a lot of time during the day to make me a robust opinion, the report is regrettably not terrible! So average as anomaly!!! Of the already heard, more than that reused until more thirst!!!

In saved very good Space invader, the fair Exchange and Past the milky way the rest is quickly forgot with cherry on the gateau the horrible The joker! Ace who had never missed a resumption, massacres that this!!!

Today the album arrived my homebase. I think it's a fine album with good songs. Not fantastic but quit a good job.
He plays well and the sound is amazing ! Much better than the stuff in the net. Joker is the song I dislike, the original is better....my opinion.

I got it a couple of days ago, so far it's not really doing much for me, but I'll give it some more spins.

It's weird how Ace's voice does sound the same as the 70's.

Its typical Ace, a no-nonsense attempt at credibility.
It has a few stand-out moments and he can be satisfied with it.
Play this, then Gene Simmons's awful CD 'Asshole'.........and Ace's sounds so much better!

You can't compare Asshole to anything man, that is some shit right there. I forget that album exists.

I kind of dig the diversity of the album Asshole

I was really hoping for a more solid effort from Gene.

I listened to it once, for me that was enough.

Ritchie Kotzen is outstanding on this track

Richie Kotzens contribution on this track as well as Bruce Kulicks guitar in the opening track are the only stand-out moments.
I also like Black Tongue believe it or not!

You see I think what a solo album for these guys should be like is to have the opportunity to do the things that you can't do in Kiss. Just my opinion and I can't say that I like every song but I'm cool with the huge departure from what he is expected to write in Kiss.
