Thanks Shramiac! As Vinnie said several times in his REH video, chicken picking and other stuff really open different worlds!
That wasn't my Ultrash VVV, but a Jackson KV. I have to replace the cheap licensed Floyd I have on the VVV, because it's too light I think, and it doesn't flutter, which is a shame for a VVV guitar!
I just did the guitar solo here. Bass, drums and rythm guitar were already recorded on a soundcloud/youtube track.
Vinnie should do this : grab a youtube track and play his crazy licks! It wouldn't be too complicated, even though he played one single note!

Thanks Birnie! Maybe I should do some parodic REH Video with the Ultrash VVV, with wrong tabs and everything?
I've concentrated myself on Vinnie's REH video lately. Great ideas in there! Maybe I'll do a little vid With the VVV if I can play some of the stuff he shows...

Still no live video, but another solo I did on a YouTube track. Here I play my gold flakes RR1, with some chicken picking sometimes, still in working on it. I was thinking about Vinnie when I did the slow "trem down" notes too...

Thanks Genebayby. That's a good question : can that fast Vinnie technique fit into a melodic song? On "Young blood" with de Soto Vinnie does an amazingly incredible solo, real fast. It seems to work, but I'm used of hearing that style. Maybe it would be better to ask someone who doesn't know Vinnie's music about that. In the beginning of YBlood, what he plays is very close to some of the licks he shows on REH which is interesting. He certainly recorded that at the same time.
I like Speedball jam too, or the idea of playing fast on a single note/chord, E for example, as he did in the REH video.These are not songs, but an interesting thing is to connect all those licks together, or improvise around them.

You've noticed the Ultratrash, Shramiac! It's waiting for some improvement : I've become a neck PU player mainly, and that neck PU is horrible, so I want to change it, and the trem is crap. I have to redo the soldering too... That's what happen when guitars are setup by amateurs!
There a Hondo RR at the back. But I enjoy more and more the 1st five RR!

Thanks, Slayer, I will. I find Vinnie's techniques really open lots of doors. Too bad he stopped everything in the early nineties. Maybe he'll tell us about his tricks next year...
