???? It still says 2002 for me. There is another thread on this btw.

I can't get the left hand pane to work, there is no scroll so not sure if I'm missing some stuff as I can't get to the bottom,

Also says 2002 for me but the links in the left pane worked - its all old stuff apart from NEWS which is 29th Dec 2010 and you can get to using :

http://www.vinnie-vincent.com/news.html

Contact is webmaster@kissfaq.com

If you use this :

http://www.vinnie-vincent.com/index.html

you get a new front page copyright 1996-2011, but I can't get it to do anything yet.

There is an update today on the news page saying their FORUM is active!!

http://www.vinnie-vincent.com/vdiscuss/

Looks like competition, or maybe we should join forces somehow?

Hey Vic, Can we offer them a link to our forum. Instead of them having a separate forum ,the link directs them here ?

Good news guys, Julian has agreed to change the link of the forum at vinnie-vincent.com to the VVFF, so we won't have two competing message boards about Vinnie.

I think that's great. He'll change it as he gets things sorted on the site.

That's good news, makes sense. Maybe in the future we could collaborate further, contributing our images to the website repository; and elsewhere where a site is more appropriate than a forum? (Don't know how it might work though!)

Wow, strange not updates in 8 years and then BANG! He certainly is starting to get more interest lately, maybe this guitar thing maybe work out for Vinnie if people start getting into him again. For the guitar appearing at namm, is the price tag confirmed for $8000?

Julian lost the domain in 2002 and only got it back recently, so that explains the 8 year gap. Strange that the person who picked it up did nothing with it, and then let it lapse again.

Vinnie, Vinnie, Vinnie. It honestly seems he is trying to remove every shred of his existance from the world. There is no doubt in my mind it was Vinnie who originally took Vinnie-Vincent.com, how did Julian get it back? Vinnie's gunna be pissed!

I don't know who had it. If it was Vinnie he let it lapse. Either way, it's good it's back in the hands of a fan who will do something with it.

It got grabbed by one of those domain-name holding companies (not V or anything to do with him directly or indirectly) that specialize in buying domains that have previously been active simply to make a profit rather than do anything with it. I had to go through several auctions to finally win it back and was simply priced-out of being able to afford it earlier.

How annoying is that. How do you find it at auctions, or do they "tell"you about it via email so you can come along and bid?

Good point Rick. Also With-Holding companies. Ie, you want this? You can't have it?....

Classic episode of Arrested Development that one, about with-holding.

They don't tell you about it. And it depends on who gets the domain. Doing the "whois" thing identified the holder, and fortunately they were obviously a vendor. I guess it too a few attempts for them to figure out they just weren't going to get $100,000 for the name and settle for what I was offering. Nice thing is that 8 years of lost domain registration fees versus what I paid to get it back and they ultimately made a loss.

i got the vinnievincent.com in an auction and i was the only bidder. no one seemed to know about it. you would have thought vinnie with his hundreds of domain names would have been on the wait list.

I got screwed out of all the cash i put into it, but I can hold my head high unlike someone else.

Just as an example, www.dreamtheater.com (.net is the official site) is up for auction at the moment on ebay! If you've got a spare $US65,000 handy..................

vinnievincent.com only has value to Vinnie. Maybe $200 bucks max value for anyone else I would say.
