Wendy O Williams
I know Vinnie had a songwriting credit with Gene and Eric Carr for the song Ain't None of Your Business, but did Vinnie also play lead guitar on it? Can't seem to find the info on the net. Figured someone here would know.

'Cause I ain't no one's fool (ain't none of your business!)
May go blind May Go bald (ain't none of your business!)
Or I may sing a different song (ain't none of your business!)
Don't try to label who I am
One thing you'll never understand
Just keep your thoughts to yourself
Don't play the fool Don't turn your back
You aske me why, NOW LISTEN JACK!
I do as I like, I do as I please, Don't ask me why!
Buy a bone that I can chew (ain't none of your business!)

Don't tell me what to do (ain't none of your business)
They rule the world They sit at home (ain't none of your business)
They socalize They live a LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wendy holds the "I" forever in the live version as the band plays its outro
The basic formula is repeated throughout the song with the backing band chiming
in the "ain't none of your business" at the end of each of Wendy's phrases.

I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.

Ooo very good! Had to dig deep for this one. I knew that Gene worked with Wendy but I didn't know that Eric and Vinnie were also involved. How cool!

Re: Wendy O Williams
The WOW record was basically a Kiss album with Wendy singing. Even Ace played on it.

Very cool indeed. Didn't know this at all. So it was unused songs?doublev2 wrote:it was out takes from a few things but mainly LIU.
Re: Wendy O Williams
it was recorded more or less at the same time of LIU, but Wendy had to wait before landing a good record deal.Guitarist Wes Beech was also a co-writer of the asylum track"love's a deadly weapon".
"Legends never die" was recorded during the COTN days, and later used for Wendy's record.Ace liked the song he played on and so he made his contribution as well.
Wendy was one of a kind, may she rest in peace.A true original.

Re: Wendy O Williams
You say Ace played on it too? So that would have meant that Vinnie met Ace? That is really neat, and I do agree, rest in peace Wendy. I really thought she was very neat for her image, so opposite of people like Lita Ford.ankh wrote:it was recorded more or less at the same time of LIU, but Wendy had to wait before landing a good record deal.Guitarist Wes Beech was also a co-writer of the asylum track"love's a deadly weapon".

Re: Wendy O Williams
Ace played on a song called "bump and grind".Paul played rhtym guitar on "ready to rock"(the drum intro used on this song was also the intro of the Eric Carr drum solo in the England tour of 1983).Gene played bass, even if Wendy implied in an interview for "enfer"magazine that somebody called EVH was playng bass on the record.Simmons stated years afterwards that he was the one playng bass.
During the "second sigthing" promo interview for Kerrang!Ace stated about Vinnie" I don't know him very well, only met him once.I think he'sa good musician and i wish him well".And asked about it, "he's riding on kiss coat tails, i donì't think he would have been as successful if it wasn't for Kiss".
I quote by memory, but i think that's what he has said.
During his interviews, Vinnie has always been very respectful and complimentary about Ace, both about his sound""Ace has the kiss signature sound down cold. When you hear Ace's riffs, you hear Kiss",and about his playng, sayng only that they had different style.

Re: Wendy O Williams
yes ankh i remember that interview. With an American magazine. I think they were talking about Dana Strum writing Dancing With Danger. He said 'Vinnie has a good band' Thats about all I remember apart from what ankh said.
Bye Bye
Re: Wendy O Williams
yes, if i'm correct8huh, by memory) it was an int. with idas. langsam. The bit youìre talking about was when she implied "curious, a man writing for two former kiss members"("dancing with danger").Ace replied simply "If vinnie Vincent write a good song, there's no problem for me to use it".I t was more to say that there was nothing special or hidden, like the intervewer was insinuating.
Quite simply,Ace manager presented the song to Ace from a publishing agency, and Ace choose to use it.He wasn't so keen to make a new record so soon and already wasn't so hot about the live ep idea( so he said). The whole record("SS" ) was a sort of debacle, both playng and songwise.Tod howarth made a difference with his songs, but the whole project was mediocre. Not to mention the production, Ace songs, and the choice of Jamie Oldaker. To think that their drummer for the previous tour was Billy ward who he's a phenomenal drummer(i have bootlegs from that era and he was great), very much appreciated now for his skills and musicality........Based from an interivew with Billy ther was a sort of personlity clash, and so Regan annouced to him that Oldaker was the new drummer.Hugh!

Re: Wendy O Williams
Billy Ward easily the best drummer Ace worked with. I love Peter and Eric but Ward played with Bill Evans and all kinds of greats.
Anton I am not such a fan of but he does a good job, just not my thing.

Re: Wendy O Williams
Anton drummed on the first Comet album, he's great.

Re: Wendy O Williams
Yup, I dig Anton a lot. Ace sounds best with a really tight rhythm section. Jamie whatsisface from Second Sighting was a turd.
Re: Wendy O Williams
Haha. Jamie didn't sound good with ace but he did drum with Clapton for years so he must have something. Anton is good but i don't like the sound of his drums as well as Eric Carr or peter in the 70s.

Re: Wendy O Williams
That's right, Jamie came from Claptons band, I had forgotten about that.

He also had Sandy Slavin in for awhile with Trouble Walkin'.
