and even I have been unable to get back in touch with him. On tour we were close, but I left the road to help raise my daughter. I was responsible for his guitars, his protection, whatever Vinnie needed.

To hear him play Paganini was delightful. To this day, and I still work in the industry, I believe Vinnie is the finest guitarist in history, the hell with Eddie Van Halen and the like. While very good, no one comes close to Vinnie.

Sadly, being on tour with various bands over the years, much of my Vinnie memorabilia is gone. I have a few bags of his guitar picks, but little else beyond the memories.

Bill,
Welcome here brother! I have always wondered what it was like for both you and Vinnie keeping those old original Floyd Rose's without the fine tuners in tune and stable. As we both know Vinnie not only used them but he used them hard. The biggest thing has me scratching my bald head is that he used a locking nut without fine tuners on the bridge. How did you guys determine how to tune the guitar and then lock the nut? 1/2 step flat?

We are glad your here and we look forward to your posts and hearing your unique stories!

Kev

Excellent. Yes agreed. Vinnie had that something extra that even the very best didn't have.

Yes, yes, yes!

For all the "he said, she said" stuff that's out there (and here too ), the one thing we, as guitar hacks want to know is, THE GEAR! Every tech tid bit from back in the day would be manna to many here! It's the most disappointing thing (apart from no new music obviously), that we've never been able to get Vinnie onboard here or at least somewhere on the net to talk about his guitars! Hopefully we can weasel some of it out of you! ;) :)

Mr. Temple appears "Magically"....makes a statement and then just vanishes into thin air, he hasn't responded to my "PM" weeks ago, he must be a busy man....kind of reminds me of a Burlesque show, you just get enough of a peek, enough to get you HARD and leave your Balls a lovely shade of blue !!!
