I attended the following 2 Invasion Show's from this list

2-14-87 Orange Pavilion San Bernardino, CA
8-26-88 Celebrity Theater Anaheim, CA

The 8-26-88 Show was the last performance of the Invasion. The Celebrity Theater had a revolving stage so there wasn't a bad seat ever at this location. However, the stage didn't revolve for this show as ticket sales were a long way from sales capacity.

Awesome KeV, you saw VVI on valentines day '87! That's cool with the revolving stage for the '88 show, shame they didn't use it...

can you tell me about how full the ASG show was. there is no info on attendence figures. Seems like some shows were busy and some not. The review of the hollywood show said that a lot of people left after Brunette played (who also sold more shirts so I was told). LA guns say that they sold way more shirts than vvi but i am unsure . it does seem like the shows with la guns were better attended.

Kev who opened up on the asg show you saw.

The Celebrity Theater seated about 2800 and I'm going to say that attendance was maybe 1000 or less. Dino, I'm struggling with remembering the opening acts. It seems to me that there might have been 2 local opening acts and one might have been a band called Rhino Bucket. I never archived this kind of stuff because it used to be readily available. I believe that Joe from the Pyromessiah Site had all this information posted at one time? The Invasion was the headliner on this tour.

Thanks. I thought Tuff opened on some west coast shows (final leg of ASG your). 1000 is actually a better turn out than i would have expected considering the album sales. thanks kev

Tuff may have been one of the 2 opening acts but I can tell you that neither Tuff if they played or Rhino Bucket were memorable. We couldn't wait for the appetizer to be finished so that we could be sered the main course. Vinnie played the Carvin at this show.

If Tuff played and Jim Gillette was the singer he certainly didn't sing like he did in Nitro. There was no shattering of glass LOL. Thank you Dino I never knew about this connection to Nitro other than Bobby Rock.

a friend of mine went to the ASG show on july 31, 1988 at the park elevator in charlotte, nc and said it was only half full. he said afterwards that bobby, dana and mark all came out to sign autographs but that vinnie was "sick" on the bus. he brought me back a signed flyer but vinnie's autograph wasn't on it so I didn't really care. before the show, he said all four members got dressed in the mcdonalds across the street(?) this was also the show that dana discovered the band firehouse (then known as white heat).

I just don't get it. ASG should have been a huge success. People I know are totally into Slaughter, but don't know who VVI was. Freaks me out. In Australia there was pretty much zero exposure, except for the MTV's A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master special. Wasn't till about 10 years ago that I was aware that 'That Time of Year' had a video for it. TTOY got no exposure in Australia. Really pisses me off when I think about. ASG had all the right ingredients to be successful. Pretty boy image, that slick Mutt Lange-ish Def Lep production with the Airy backing vocals & great songs with insane guitar parts. Man if there was some wacky conspiracy going on I don't know shit.

Vinnie was his own, self-inflicted conspiracy.

Some of these shows were taped!?!?!?!
I wish those tapes would surface so we could see them. :( There is not enough live VVI material out there.

Even with all the shit going on that time of year should have been a hit. Why no radio or tv stations picked up on it is mad.
You can see that the label paid 4 million and got nothing back on the two records they must have just said screw it. Maybe people were fired over signing vvi too.
The taped shows would be cool to hear.

I'm amazed at how much information people are able to assemble.
Open your window and see the real world
To know what you've been missing
Come out of the shadows
Insecurity lies
In a heart afraid to listen

His pre Kiss & VVI shows have been very few. I would have thought he was more experienced than that. Massive gaps between the performances. Well, he haven't been performing in too many albums either..
