He had that on his forum. We listened, sympathized & supported, hell some people even attacked others because he said they should. It could be said that we are part of his problem. We were enablers. Sometimes people have to hit bottom to see the truth. Cusano always has people who will tell him he's great no matter what he does. The day that nobody is there to lash out at and tell him he's a star is the day he'll think about his actions. By being blinkered about his behavior we are subconsciously telling him it's ok to abuse people. Nothing will get better for him while we make excuses.
I have too much self respect than to allow myself to be controlled by someone who is not my equal.
I would not be telling Vinnie that it was "okay" to abuse people because its not. I wouldn't be telling Vinnie anything. I'd be helping him and listening to him. When I say that he might like someone to listen to him, that is what I would do. Just listen. If he asked for or wanted my opinion, I would give it to him, but if he did not want my opinion, I wouldn't. I'd be a sounding board. I know the value of listening to someone. I've done it all my life. There are of course sacrifices with it, when you listen to others, sometimes you find out there is no one to listen to you, but if I can help someone, that makes me happy.
I don't think that I lack self respect, I am not controlled by anyone, and I am not competitive by nature to choose who is or who isn't my equal. I feel everyone is equal, we are all a part of the human race.
