I'd rather watch this bootleg than an HD version of any Kiss lineup since then.

I agree. I pretty much boycott al NEW KISS stuff now. They've lost it for me.
I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubble gum.

1) I had never seen this, but I haven't had much time in my life over the last 7-8 years to really dive into YOUTUBE to get to see cool stuff like this. Maybe when I am retired...sigh...

2) Rick, are you saying there is a bootleg of this show available on DVD?

3) Meta, I don't boycott the new KISS but I have certainly lost my passion for them. I think it died when they did the Symphony show without Ace but conned Peter into coming back. Just lame.

Yes KISS today and the last 15 years...the same old tired set list, the same old quotes outta Gene and Paul's mouths, etc. etc.

Plus, band merch, toys, etc. are cool but constantly trying to shove it down people's throats just takes away from it. I remember a couple of years ago walking into Toys R Us and the action figure aisle looked liked a KISS Klose-out store. Spencers too. TONS of KISS toys that were reduced and littering the shelves cause no one was buying... kind of made it embarrasing to be a fan.

That's why stuff like the above footage is so cool to me... they were humbled and hungry again with Vinnie and Eric. They had a "dangerous" feel to them again.

That sounds so sick Dino!!!!

I just checked my old list and two video recordings exist of this show. One is graded pretty bad and one is not so bad. I would say this YouTube video is a lower gen source which is what's great about the internet. Stuff is out there somewhere.

I am going to grab these YouTube clips now!

Peter cannot stand Eric Singer because Singer never called him or showed any concern for taking the drum spot in Kiss. Peter adored Eric Carr because Carr felt bad about things and always showed concern and respect for Peter.

That information came straight from Gigi Criss' mouth during the Aero-Kiss Tour a few years back in Columbus, Ohio.
Remember, This was after Singer did the Japan tour in Peter's makeup. Pete must be flipping his lid now.

I'm sure Singer singing "Beth" on the last tour aided things further.

About 12 years ago, before Singer came back to Kiss, I saw him sing "Beth" in a small bar in Studio City ,California called The Baked Potato. ( http://www.thebakedpotato.com/ )
Who would've known that he would sing that song on a Kiss stage ????

Pure. Unadulterated. Genius.

Other bands have fun with their tours and set-lists. KISS never does. It's always 75% the same...and in the same order...played exactly the same way...with the same stage stunts...

P&G claim it's because people want to hear the hits...but I hate to tell ya...KISS only has a small handfull of hits. The only ones to crack top 20:
Rock and Roll All Night
Detroit Rock City (because it was the A side of Beth)
Calling Dr. Love
Beth
Hard Luck Woman
I Was Made For Loving You
Forever

Everything else is a "fan favorite".

So they could do THEME CONCERTS (full albums, deep cuts, etc) and then encore with their "hits".

So true. Hell, the only songs KISS would really have to leave in the set that the fair weather fans care about is Rock n Roll All Nite and maybe I Was Made For Lovin You (or Dr. Love now because of those damn Dr. Pepper commercials).

The rest of the set could be rare gems and, dare I say it... request (kind of like the conventions but electric).

The show does exists and in high quality ! This is the infamous show to which Paul wanted to knock Vinnie's lights out after the gig because of Vinnies extended solo. Its now on Youtube in high quality. Yes he plays w/ a violin bow too a la Jimmy Page.

No the infamous show when Paul and Vinnie almost came to blows was on the LIU tour... not the Creatures tour... the only time Vinnie used a bow.

Not sure if your saying he did or didn't use the bow for creatures but, bow comes out @ 5:02, same concert ! He never used the bow for the LIU tour. This solo was way to long and Paul wanted Vinnie out, Gene calmed Paul down from butting heads w/ Vin after THIS show. It has been well documented, get your facts straight !!! It was also at this time Gene called Ace to get him back in the band, they kept Vin obviously as Ace said no to Gene's offer.

Dude you are so fucking clueless it's not even funny. Of course he didn't use the bow on the LIU tour... I've already stated that (glad to teach ya something new). I'm not even gonna argue with your stupid ass cause you're nothing but a little worthless troll who loves to stir the shit. Any half assed KISS fan knows the incident between Paul and Vinnie happened on the LIU tour when Vinnie was already on his way out. Get YOUR facts straight kid.

Keep on showing your ignorance here dude... you are the laughing stock of this board and you don't even realize it!

Here ya go Jeff, from Wikipedia... read 'em a weep:

At an LA Forum show in January 1984 Vincent continued playing despite Stanley's cueing him to finish the solo. The two nearly came to blows in the dressing room afterward, with Stanley accusing Vincent of showing him up and Vincent accusing the other three members of ruining his solo and trying to hold him back as a performer. They were separated by Eric Carr and Gene Simmons and a couple of roadies who tried to keep the peace. At a March show in Quebec, Canada, as the band prepared to close out their set, Vincent broke into an impromptu solo, leaving the other band members standing onstage with nothing to do. Vincent left (or was fired for a second time, depending on the source) shortly after. This time the break was permanent.

The only problem I see with that report is that it says that KISS played the LA Forum, when they actually played Long Beach Arena. But that's an easy thing to get wrong. Uncle Kev probably went to that gig, he'll know!!!

LOL Anybody can switch the date, that is so fixed, copied and paste w/ a date changed ! It was this show and Pinkwiz your wrong, I remember reading it in Metal Edge come Animalize and Kiss was explaining why Vinnie was no longer in the picture, the story of this concert came up !

People what makes more sense .. the long solo posted earlier or a vinnie solo from lick it up ?

Creatures solo ( in Montreal ) 7: 47 .. ( if you see the full concert he still keeps playing w/ Eric coming in on drums )
Lick it up 4:41

What I remember reading was that it was in LA on the LIU tour and Vinnie was extra pissed off because he had a lot of friends in the crowd and felt Paul embarrassed him in front of them.
Jeff, posting the LIU Quebec solo doesn't prove anything! Without the stated LIU LA show we can't know.

haha, the only thing i can not figure out is how kiss stayed friends with vv that long. Even VV himself said in interviews around the time of VVI that he grew up since he left kiss and he did a lot of stupid things.. of course now he would deny them. Vinnie blew it in Kiss, blew it in VVI , blew it with his fans and friends and many more, So sad.

Makes sense seeing that Billy Idol had Aucoin as manager and as stated on here the name "Vinnie Vincent" was probably influenced by "Steve Stevens". Plus Idol was hot on the charts in mid '82 and Gene was probably paying attention seeing that Ace's days in KISS were numbered.

I think its fair to agree on both opinions. I am not denying it didnt happen on the Lick It Up tour however, I know this happened after this concert for the Creatures Tour. It just seems to me more factual due to the video footage proof here w/ a solo toping in over the 7 min mark as oppose to a 4 min solo.
