I've only had the guitar I'm using now, and I'm not proud of it, but it's all I can afford.
Eh.

Guitars aren't ugly. Guitars rock. I wish I could play one.

The last les paul I did the hand stain burst with nitro clear, there were a few people that hated the color or just didn't get it. Luckly it found a home to some one who just loves it.

Music is all about the love.. I bought a microphone...and I sing my heart out. To hell with what the neighbors think. Making music about expressing your feelings. If you love it enough, nothing will stop you from playing.

I know that the guitar is also a visual thing, and how nice is to get the seal of approval from friends/peers,but your opinion-since you've bought it and you play it-it is really the only thing that matters. And some people's vision is different from your's.They judge ona completely different set of parameters.
Ok, enough with my banality.

I've got such comments on my guitars..........until they played or heard them. This made the situation change quickly.

Case in point: a friend of mine was recording parts for a known female singer, and, since he needed an aggressive sound, asked me to bring him my Marshall.I suggest i'd bring my Kawai(a neck-thru guitar). He wasn't so keen, since he's a great guitarist but a bit of a snob, guitar wise.Besides, he was there with a tele,a strat, a les paul 59 reissue with p90's and a Paul reed smith custom, plus other guitars. He ended up using the kawai with a vox ac 30 8) .

Each time he plays my guitar(poserboy, please no dirty jokes:P), he says "don't EVER part with it"

The Klein copy got a lot of slack, but i like it and it's very confy.Sounds great too.

nice;).Thosepickups dopn't have a great output, but this is good, since when you use high gain, you can hear all the notes better.Maybe they need some waxing, tough.Nice guitar.

Um...those classic guitars are not ugly. I saw a 60s red Harmony Rocket for $250, but the wires were hanging out of it. It was a beauty. Just like the one Chuck Berry used to play. I couldn't help but stop and stare at that baby through the antique shop window. I don't know how to fix guitars, or I would've gone in and bought it.

It's easy! Always cut the red wire.......no wait, the blue wire!!!

I want to replace the pick ups with cc pickups but maybe its best to keep the unique pick ups that are in already.

Ankh, what is waxing?

thanks for the kind words  .Such a responsability  .

Those pickups give you a more "acoustic " tone,so to speak, becasue of the way they are.In case you want to replace themnm, stored them somewhere , so if you decide to get rid of the guitar, you can restore it to the original specs.

Waxing: often the wires inside of the pickups aren't tighted properly or become loose. Then the pickup begin to squeak at high volume, especially with distortion. The term for it is a "microphonic" pickup, ebcasue it begin to act more or less like a microphone(it could even be a good thing, it depends what you want to do with it).The solution to tha t rpoblem is to take the pickups out of the guitar, buy some wax, and then ,after warming the wax in a pot put inside another poit full of water(in this way the warming process is slower, there's no risk in damagin the pickup, you can use a cooking thermometer to measure the temperature, it should be not hotter than 110-120 F), to put the pickup into the warm, liquid wax. After a couple of mintues, you pull out the pickup and get rid of the wax in excess. The coils should still look like they are covered in wax, let the pickup coool off and then you can put it back in the guitar. This is,by and large, the process. There are other solutions, faster ones, but warm wax can really fix the problem perfectly since it can reach inbetween the coils of the thin copper wire of the bobbin.
Usually, you can do it yourself, it's cheap, but if you want, you can ask to your luthier.
There are more complete descritpion on the net, this was more a descritpion of the process.

I've done it on an old Zenon guitar and now the problem is solved.

Thanks. I find that my 15w amp is not loud enough with these pickups. I would like a GEM amp if they have a 30w plus .

afraid so.If it is a valve one, already 15 watt can create enough sonic power to make playng at home leve a bit unconfy for your relatives and neighbours. My fender champ 12 can be played only clean at 9 o' clock volume setting, if i put the overdrive channel on, it becomes too loud, and it is a 10 watt amp.
