Well Gene & Paul personally went to see KISSNATION because they thought they were great Kiss impersonators ! That has to say something. This Billy May guy is the closest I have heard to any kiss tribute to sound like Paul Stanley even when he just talks , he sounds extremely close .... in my opinion. If you know of someone better post them up !

Finding a group of 4 guys that look like, sound like, play like and then dress them up like KISS sounds completely uninteresting to me.
To be honest, the idea of finding 4 new guys to take over is kinda interesting to me. But creating a clone band is just a tribute. They need to find 4 good musicians/singers/performers/writers and let them become their own thing and see what happens.

He sounds a bit like him when he talks but those vocals are lacking.

He sounds like Paul when he speaks, he looks somewhat similar to Paul and is obviously TRYING to sing like Paul...but he needs to work on his breathing and power. Paul always had great control of his instrument and has the power to belt it out. (That is, until recently.) THIS guy doesn't have that power to back it up.

Its hard to find someone who sounds like the master w/ some exceptions, Journey pulled it off w/ there Philippino
singer they had, he sounded as close to the real thing as it gets. Yes this guy is lacking in the vocal department but not by far. Here's a kid who could be Johnny Cash reincarnation !

Oh....I'm feeling a real Journey moment. Admit it, you've all cried during "open arms". Can Dean or Arnel move the soul? There is just no substitute.

Many have sang for them, jeff scott soto being one of them. No one will top Steve. they all come very close. In the end its not just about the sound but rather the spirit !!! Thanks for everybody's thoughts and opinions this was actually a good topic ... oh wait a minute Genebaby hasnt bitched about me yet.

I think Arnel is a great singer and a pretty amazing performer. I don't try to compare him to Steve Perry because I don't think he's actually trying to mimic him.
I think what Journey needs is a really great new album with a "hit" single on it to cement him as the new voice of Journey.

If all they ever do is nostalgia tours with Arnel singing old Perry songs he will never be able to make his own name and put his own stamp on things. I've watched the Journey concert with Arnel on the Palladium channel and they sound SO good. In MY opinion, they sound a LOT better than they did with Arguri (sp?) and I would hazard a guess that Arnel probably sounds better today than Perry.

Perry lost his range years ago. Most likely one of the main reasons he didn't tour after the reunion album years ago.

Patty Smyth gives good Journey. :D

This song was on the Warrior album, before Journey put their version out. Great song.

Patty Smith is incredible. I've heard rumor that she was briefly considered as David Lee Roth's replacement before Sammy Hagar.

For anyone that hasn't seen that Journey concert video with Arnel from a couple of years ago...I think you'd be sold pretty quickly.

It's a waste of a great voice...like Vinnie is a waste of great guitarist.

I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.
