Familiar ?

Post by poserboy71 »

A guitarist stands up to shitty treatment, holds out (essentially quits), yet was "fired" by the powers that be.
This kid probably thought he could make a living playing with Sebastian. THINK AGAIN.
Sebastian is struggling and most likely doesn't split the low pay evenly or fairly. Yes , It's his name on the bill/marquee BUT when you're playing the bar circuit (you can't have a permanent GNR opening slot)...
I do think that Sebastian was at least professional and polite in his press release. It surprised me that his ego left the door open to work together in the future. But then again, Mr. Bach needs a songwriter.

Sebastian Bach Kicks Guitarist Nick Sterling Out Of His Band
Submitted by: Dana

Sebastian Bach says he kicked Nick Sterling out of his solo band after the guitarist caused them to miss out on the opportunity to appear on national TV.

Sterling, 22, last week said he’d be sitting out a few shows for contractual reasons – but now Bach, who co-wrote his latest solo album with him, says he won’t be back.

The former Skid Row frontman tells 93 Rock, "We did a big broadcast on AXS TV that we worked really, really hard on. It was a very big deal that we were on television from coast to coast all across the USA. Everybody had to sign a release to be part of the broadcast and the DVD coming out. Everybody else signed it. I talked to Nick two days before the show and he hadn’t signed. I’m like, ‘Dude, we’re filming in two days. You have to sign.’ He guaranteed to me that he would sign it and be part of it."

Bach continues, “Then when we got to soundcheck he wouldn’t sign the release. We could not film the show with him – he wouldn’t let us.”

The singer accuses Sterling of making “completely unreasonable” demands and insists the guitarist’s behavior was unprofessional.

“If someone is not happy in my band, I will be the first to show them the door,” says the singer. “If you’re not part of the team and you’re not interested in being successful or professional, get out of my band. I’ve been doing this for 30 years and all I ask is that somebody is a professional and doesn’t wreck it for the rest of us – which is what he did in LA the other day.”

But despite their falling out, Bach hopes they may be able to work together again in the future. “I love Kicking and Screaming, the album we made. Everybody should listen to that and realize we captured a very cool, unique moment in time between me and him. I wish Nick all the best. But if you can’t be a team player, I don’t want to play with you any more.”

As usual they seemed so happy together. Nick just had his birthday recently.

I wonder why he wouldn't sign?

Well to be honest Bach is not going anywhere, hes not going to be back in the big time or sell a crap load of records. So it was going to happen no matter what sooner or later. The kids young plays and writes good, hes not a flake. He got some attention from being in Bachs band and a good rep overall. I dont think its anything like the Vinnie issue with kiss.

I am not speaking about the kid. I am directing my post towards the one time Rock Star that has hit the skids  and is sucking dick for quarters. Even though his band does most of the mouth stroking and gobbles the gravy , they get paid far less and are not treated as equals. Sebastian wouldn't have new product if it weren't for this kid.

To me, Up and comers should receive the same treatment as the has-beens on their way down.
Obviously, Sebastian's name on the marquee isn't that big of a deal.

I hope that Nick triumphs on to a better gig. Only time will tell if this affects him like a similar situation affected our warrior.

It's very sucky he wouldn't sign up for the performance, seemed like a pretty big deal.

This is more of a solo artist and "band" deal rather than a band like Kiss or Metallica. Sebastian's name may not be huge as it once was but it's bigger than anyone else in the group.

I have to keep reminding myself that Vinnie had a carreer AFTER Kiss. He fucked himself over during the VV Invasion years, not the Kiss years.

Sebastian, the guy who sold pot, that he got for free, for $50 a stick to his band members. Don't think Seb has anyones best interests in mind, but his own. Morals and Seb don't mix. You want product, you want songs, you want a band to tour with you. Pay up or Get The Fuck Out of the game Seb. Guitar strings cost money.
I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubble gum.

And he's always flat live too.

Guess he can keep doing voices for Robot Chicken.
