Here's another little story for you...The concert was a Tri-Bill with White Lion/Y&T/Frehley's Comet at the Poughkeepsie Civic Center in New York...This was my 3rd and final show working in the security pit and it would end up being an interesting experience !!! The concert started and the crowd got a little out of control, the crowd had surged the stage and the security pit barrier collapsed, myself and a few others got pinned up against the stage with a little discomfort to boot! The concert was stopped, lights came on and the public address announcer stated that if this keeps up the concert will be cancelled, the barrier was too damage to erect again and had to be removed from the area. About 15 minutes later the show was about to start up again when I felt someone tapping me on my shoulder, I turned around and it was Ace's Tour Manager Moe Haggerdone, Moe said I need you to be on stage next to Tod and if anyone climbs up on stage or goes after Ace take them down, drag them out the door or push them back into the crowd !!! Well you can imagine with "NO" security pit or barrier in place it was open season for every drunken idiot to attempt to climb on stage and get their 15 minutes of fame. Debris was everywhere on stage and I had to grab cans, bra's, bandana's so that nobody would trip, Tod was cracking up at all that was going down, Ace played his smoking guitar solo and was within 2 ft of me...I could actually see the sweat coming out of the pores in his ACE Tattoo !!! Ace eventually got to close to the edge of the stage and this guy grabbed Ace by the boot, it threw Ace's balance off and he was just about to fall into crowd when Ace gave me the look of "HELP", within seconds I had bear hugged From behind and placed all 165 lbs of him back where he belonged...After the show was over I was back stage and wanted Ace and the guys to each sign an ACE playing card, Ace wrote "Nice Catch" and Tod wrote "Thanks"...It was just 1 crazy night.....and Betty White was there too !!!
