I would've made some new rules for the Catholic church as Pope:

1) Thou shalt not notice my incompetency. Really. I'm the head cheese around here.

2) Ginger couples will not be allowed to marry. You tube says they have no souls. It's good enough for me.

3) Picking your nose is a sin. Wiping boogers on the pews will send you to hell. I saw you.

4) Vaginas are evil. You will say ten hail Marys for having one, and beat yourself with a whip. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!
Owww..not a good rule. Should've thought that one through.

5) I will be cryogenically preserved next to Walt Disney for the rapture

6) Friday night is my B-movies and popcorn night. Don't disturb me.

7) Thou shalt say one hundred "Hail Vincent Prices" if you have never watched Fall of the House of Usher.

8 ) Thou shalt buy my embroidered used snot rags, you nasty fucks.

9) I charge $7,000,000 for exorcisms.

10) The Amazing Atheist and Richard Dawkins caused school shootings. I saw it on CNN, and it's good enough for me. They are to be banned from church. They won't step a foot in my church even if they don't want to. So there. Evil,evil,evil,evil..na..na..nananana.

11) Okay, not doing a good job here enforcing the word of god. Refer to rule 1. I'll bet you scrolled. Ha ha.

Today i had the pleasure to spend 5 hours with Dino, who's a real gentleman and such a wonderful person.
We talked aboput many topics, and he was kind kind enouhg to ebar with my nonstop talking.I had a grea ttime and hoepfeulu he did too.We went to many places,no time to take pics but bear with me ;).
First we went to a barber shiop, like he mentioned, he was Careca and maradona personal hairdresser during the "glory days".

Thne we went to a place where they were selling some pastries,a few examples:

After that, we were strolling by towards the monumental part of the city, first Dino got a pizza fritta:

Image

then we did pass by a church where recently they discovered sanscrit notes on the rocks in the front,it is actually a songsheet for classical ensamble:
Image

after that,at my insistence,we went to visit cappella Sansevero, where there's a statue called "Veiled christ", there's nothing else like tha tin the wolrd,if you look at the pic you'll understand why:
Image

a detail:

after that we've seen statue of "Pudicizia"a and the famous anatomical machines made by the alchemist Prince of Sansevero:
Image

As with the Veiled Christ, scientist still can't expalin how they were made.

After that, we went first to S.Gregorio Armeno, where they sell local interpretation of naitivity:
Image

then we went to visit the dome, wehre the remains of S.Gennaro are resting:
Image

adfter that,we did stroll by the ancenit roads, and then iwe went to a freind of mine who makes and sell chocolates bonbons, some shaped like the Vesuvius :
Image
(btw, all the things you see in this tiny pic are made of chocolate, including small pizzas).
BY then it was half past five so we did take a taxi to the train station, and there Dino went straight back to Rome.

Apart from a n horrible weather, it was a great saturday afternoon.I had a great time, and there are so many places to visit here, but i hope there will be more time next time around.

Thnaks Dino for the kind words and for your patience

unfortunately ,there was no time to take pics and also the weather was quite naff.

I hope the pics i've taken off the net gave you some sort of idea about the places and stuff we were talking about.

Maybe,if somebody is interested, i cna elabroate a bit more about some of the places......or the pastries.

Fried Pizza, usally is made with the same dough, but you fold it, put mozzarella cheese inside-sometimes pieces of salami-and then you fry it.

Another version is with tomato sauce either inside or on the outside, with a bit of grated parermsan.

Fortunately Charles Dickens parents weren't Catholics. I like A Tale of Two Cities.

Yeah great day. Thanks to ankh. Well worth checking out the dark princes experiments and the veil sculpture.
I have to say the double mozzarella pizza at da micheles takes pizza to another level. Makes pizza in other italian cities seem bad. Naples is the best

thanks Dino  ,too kind.
I'm glad you enjoyed the visit at Cappella Sansevero. Each time i see that statue(" The Veiled Christ") i'm still mesmerized by it.To know that it is made entirely of marble-nothing else- and that scientists still don't know how he did it it amazes me to this day.

Yes ,Michele is great. But i'm sure that special dishes typical of each city tate the best where they were invented.

Rick, when you feel like flyng here...................

and everybody from the forum will be welcome. :D :D :D
