depends on whether you like it 'Peaty' or not but you cant go wrong with Highland Park from Orkney(IMO the best in the world) .. distilled a mile from where I was born .. or Oban is also very good .. the western isles and north isles tend to be peaty on varying degrees with Laphroig being the daddy of the peat taste .. avoid all blends .. and soryr US friends but avoid all borbourns if you want a propper whisky .. there are many 'Speyside' whisky's tht are great too .. think Macallan .. Glenivet, Dalwhinnie .. many many many to choose from but go with Highland Park or Oban or indeed both and taste the differences .. hope that helps (avoid south Scotland stuff too as it's frankly toilet water)

yes please :D

The nose gives up nutty, toffee, honeyed heather and baked bread aromas with a subdued smokiness. The smoke comes out more distinctly on the palate, balanced by full, sweet flavors of honey, caramel and spiced baked apple. This is a spirit that seems wild at first encounter, but is really surprisingly gentle at heart, with a sweet generous nature lurking behind the not entirely slick exterior. I should also note that the finish reverberates for a goodly span.

he fails to mention that you wont really get a hangover from good malt .. but you may well wake up still pished haha
