"Old Man Kev" was there with about 5800 others to see Vinnie Vincent for the very 1st time on March 26, 1983 at the age of 17 years 9 month's. This is an outdoor venue with Motley Crue as the opening act and this would be the first time that I saw Motley Crue. Back in those days Mick Mars played a Black Les Paul.

The next time that I would see Kiss with Vinnie Vincent would be February 3, 1984 at the Orange Show Pavilion. This was an indoor facility where I saw many concerts as a kid. Opening acts were Riot and Vandenberg and Vandenberg was outstanding this night while Riot is hardly memorable. On this night Vandenberg actually sounded better than Kiss as they were not as loud. At this venue Kiss and Vinnie were actually so loud that you couldn't clearly hear what they were playing when playing together as a band. The exception was the live solo's when the guys were out there by themselves and that was better on the ears and senses. For this concert their sound check was not very effective.

Very cool Kev, you're lucky you got to see such a great Kiss line-up. Pity about the sound in 84 though.

Great stuff kev. The 5 times I saw kiss only twice was sound good. The 87 crazy nights tour with anthrax was great sound but only 1/3 of arena and I think more anthrax fans than kiss. Hits tour show I saw outside and not loud enough.
