Slayer, first of all, I appreciate the kind thoughts. In all honesty, when we took that photo I didn’t know V was holding that box until I got home and started looking thru my pics. That’s the reason I cropped it so tightly before when I posted. I later realized that there are already pics of that box on the Internet, so it’s nothing new. Vinnie is still working on the Archives. It’s an
empty box in the photo... if you Google around, you’ll find pics of the same boxes and they are designed to hold cassettes.
The box is proof that the Archives were definitely in the works then, too. Yes, things didn’t go as planned before, and there is plenty of info out there to piece together what happened. But I believe him when he says he intends on making it right. That’s what I was talking about a few weeks ago — how things are starting to move forward again, and that a fresh approach is helping to keep that momentum going. I do understand where you are coming from, but again I’m just saying, staying dug into those foxholes isn’t going to get anything, and you’ll be sitting there 10 more years from now with nothing new to show for it. It’s totally your choice and right of course, but there are others helping to keep things going by supporting what’s happening
now. That in turn will create the opportunities to finish things like Guitarmageddon, the VV Archives, etc. Finished product doesn’t just magically appear out of thin air, right? Other ingredients are needed.
Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to talk about the songs here. Please understand we’re trying to generate excitement to keep things moving forward. And it’s damn good stuff! It will be well worth the wait. Definitely not trying to wave anything under anyone’s noses to open old wounds. If that is the result, then I won’t mention them further here. But at that point, I won’t really have much reason left to be here, either.
I do love VVFF. I just think some here need to decide if they’re content with past experience or if they want to keep things going forward. There really isn’t much way to move forward without letting go of some of the past. I don’t mean forgetting, but it might take forgiving, or at least some grace. I can tell you that those of us moving forward are having a grand old time, and Christmas is going to be even better. Everyone is welcome.
