Boy, I was at a good Sydney record store sometime in the 80's and saw a cassette copy of White Tiger for $2 so I bought it, even though I already knew it was a stinker.erg2 wrote:I spent a year in the 80s trying to get my hands on the White Tiger cassette. Imagine my surprise upon listening how I had labored much too hard. That album is ass.
#1- Bad production and mixing. If this band was any good, the album does not showcase it at all.
#2- The singing is SO nasally. And he talks more about how he was/is a male model than he does about music.
As much as I disliked the cassette, I heard some potential in a few songs.(Bad Time Coming, Northern Wind, etc.) It was all just cheaply executed...not raw, just amateur.
I was surprised when I got the remastered CD at how much better the completely remixed/reworked ROCK WARRIORS sounded. I think a decent producer could've made something out of this band.
Nobody did it better than VVI in the late 80's Lots of great records but VVI was above them all.
