Not musically. Just in the fact that Glenn sang in both bands.

I'm the same. I had friends in high school that had the Misfits cassettes but I was convinced that they liked the "image" more than the music.

I will reserve judgement for when the album comes out.

There's just too little info to glean from these samples for me to make a proper judgement.

I like 'em but yeah the Misfits are more for just the legacy and the image... not genius songwriting.

i think its stupid putting these samples out so early.

Freak sounds like a black and blue tune to me.

I don't mind Shout Mercy and Last Chance.

But most sound like they wrote them in an hour.

at least they put out music and give people something to talk about. i still like them even if i dont listen to their music. to be jonest their interviews are more entertaining than the actually music. a movie about making the music would also be better than the actual music. but they are still around and paul and gene still alive so that cool enough.

I still contend that it will not be bad. It will not be great, but it will not be bad.
What's weird is that it seems that some people are almost ROOTING for it to be bad. I'm choosing to enjoy the bits of it that are good and fun instead of focusing on the bits that are crappy, uninspired and derivative. There are so few real rock records out anymore that I'm not going to outright dismiss one even if it's only a double instead of a home run.

When KISS proclaimed that "Monster" would be a cross between Destroyer & Revenge and that it would be one of their greatest album's....in essence they were like Babe Ruth pointing to the "Fence" ... telling the fans it's going to be a Home Run !!! That works well when your in your Prime and can deliver...but when you point to the fence and pop-up or strikeout, you end up with egg on your face !!! Even the best athletes usually know when to hang up their cleats before they embarrass themselves any further, some go out as legends and some go out as fools....

i don't have much interest on the album , sounds the same as sonic boom
i dont get it , it's harder to do this kind of album vs rocknroll over , that was simple music !
fans will dig it if they do a simple album , but they keep going to the 85-87 big choruses
we need 2 vocal harmonies only

I would love it if they locked themselves in a studio for 2 months with the original 4 guys with nothing but instruments, tape and 16 tracks...but it's not going to happen. Since I can't stop MONSTER from coming out, I'm going to try to find some songs on it I like and enjoy them. There were quite a few on SONIC BOOM that I really liked. (I know. Lock me up and throw away the key!)

I'm sure the actual songs will be somewhat listenable .

I just can't stand the actual sound quality -Pro Tools/Autotune . Sterile

I will give my opinion on HoH since I have heard that entire song. I don't care for it. It bores me to tears. It doesn't have enough ummphh to the riff to make me want to jump around or bang my head. The lyrics aren't interesting or cool enough to make me care. It's like air freshener in a room that didn't stink.

from wikipedia
Thayer's work for Stanley & Simmons began by performing such tasks as painting Stanley's house and cleaning out Simmons' gutters.[1]

It was dumped to Pro Tools just like Sonic Boom.

Yes I know this for a fact. A close friend of my witnessed this. Apparently Tommy painted Gene's house. He was Gene's 'gofor boy'.

For sure. They dump everything into things like Pro-Tools, cause basically, the end result with be on some kind of digital format. Over the net or on CD.

I know this sounds crazy and everyone will jump down my throat...but maybe Tommy would be good as the leader of a next generation of KISS. He's always talking about how he wants to do deep cuts and cool things and Paul or Gene have no interest. And, I think his song WHEN LIGHTNING STRIKES was one of the better tunes off of SONIC BOOM.

Tommy is too old for whatever ridiculous thought that Gene has for whats basically an "official" Kiss tribute band. Tommy is only 8 years younger than Paul and Eric six years younger. They will probably go with twenty somethings to fill the slots. Pauls ego wont allow him to stop probably well into his 70's ... even if his voice and body are shot... by that time Tommy will be in his 60's haha!

Tommy is not rock n roll enough. Too square. I think he is a great guy but just not for kiss.

I think Marty Friedman would have been the best choice as lead guitarist in kiss but i don't know if he is a great songwriter. Maybe reb beach after Friedman or Richie kotzen.

Vinnie with a healthy mind and attitude is the perfect match for Kiss though I'm not sure if Paul could sing for Vinnie like he did on Exciter. Vinnie pushed that band to be the best they could be. Now they don't push themselves, just try. Not to rock the boat and call it a cross between Destroyer and Revenge.

In all honestly I believe Tommy and Eric are the perfect fit for Kiss nowadays. Its not their faults that Paul and Gene are stuck in a rut and content with that. Vinnie or someone driven like he was 30 years ago would only rock the boat today. Singer and Thayer are good little employees...

They are, but Gene and Paul need someone to wake the up from the musical coma they are in and get them sounding hungry again.

True, if Tommy or Eric did that they would be replaced by someone who played ball, so I see their point of view. I'd do it too!

I think this guy...ah what his name ah, Vinnie,,,,ah something, something, ah Vincent. Yer Vinnie Vincent would be a great guitarist for KISS. Oh shit  , that's right we've been down that rock/in'/y road b4. :P
Kotzen would dry hump Paul's leg. Reb needs to remember how to bath again.
