What I'm wondering is how both these guitars look so similar today, when, taking into account a respray, only one could ever be his LIU guitar due to the inlays.
They are like copies of each other, is every pink Jackson Rhoads an ex Vinnie Vincent guitar?

So, facts concerning the guitars are still as confusing as they were the day this discussion started ? hehe..
You guys sure has gotten to the bottom of this, but you mean it is still a mystery where the original ( that pink guitar I sat as a 12 year old watching Vinnie play in that "Hockey-rink" in 1983) is still missing ? or ?...still with the original owner ?

here, on jacksons website, pertaining to serials... there is a column, for early 80s guitars, that dont list a serial number set, or location, all jackson USA neck throughs...

and in this video, the carvin is in fact...silver... so... maybe we are all way way way off base in our assumptions?

Yes the Carvin 6/12 is as silver as!
With Vinnie getting his first few Rhoads guitars in '82, it seems by those Jackson charts, that indeed it's a hell of a good chance that none of Vinnie's early Rhoads have serial numbers. When Dino took the pictures of the Hard Rock guitar when it was still in Cardiff, he said there was no number on it. Been waiting for the Hard Rock Hotel in Pattaya where the guitar is now to send me a real close up of the 22nd fret but it looks like Dino was right and there is no serial number on it.
Good work roustie!

The description is wrong. The headstock was never refinished while in kiss. Also seems unlikely he woukd change vol control after he left kiss but who knows

Out of interest can you show me pic of double neck in silver from the video. Thanks

We really need to see side by side shots. He should supply the picture of each prototype now and later.

At the end of the video it looks silver to me. Can see why anyone could think it was black though with all the lighting on it, I know I did.
No blue/white/good dress comparisons please!

In the carvin ad he has black. I guess it could have just been a show piece.

he may have also ordered it in black, or specified it that way and it looked too plain, so had it refinished? How far apart are the video and photo ad in a timeline?
also, i wonder if anyone has ever asked G.E. Smith about Vinnie, or his experiences in a band with him way back when...

Very possible. I think pic was early 88 or late 87 and video summer 88. Carvin never really offered silver and I think vv woukd have had headstocks painted sane color as body if he had ordered it originally in silver so I think it is a respray or possibly a respray

I was at an auction recently and all the buyers paid 16% on top of their bid. 25% is a lot!

Wow. Shocking someone bid 12500 for a guitar that at best is completely different looking to how it was in kiss.

Yeah, that's a lot of cash for a guitar that can't really be verified in many ways.

At best it's what it says it is but with added pink headstock never seen in kiss at worst not from kiss at all. Matching photos would be a good idea

The photo isn't good enough for the headstock, but it's probably his usual black headed Jacksons. Vinnie has never been seen in Kiss with a pink headed guitar, only in the 90's did they turn up, like that monstrosity he took around with him to the conventions. It looked as crappy as his makeup did back then.

Interesting! Did anyone register with Julien's? Be cool to find out what they went for. If the '92 Pear VVV sold at a good price, I hope Vinnie slings a bit of cash back to Tom. Fresh start....a fresh start.

Thanks, Sammy. Shame Tom's guitar only went for that.
The rest went for about what you think they would have. Congrats Vinnie.

So vinnie knows how much the azg's are worth. Not 10k as he believes. We all knew about 2500 was value. Apart from the pear has more value since coming as a vv's own collection. I hope someone here bought it actually. I think the double neck went for more than its worth and the handwritten lyrics are bullshit. Credit to vv for selling to dumb ass people.

The stage used jackson which has not been proven without doubt and certainly never used on stage with pink headstock and New logo went for 6 times what I think it's worth

And again headstock re painted if this is original. I am starting to think a vv fan within the corporate piece of crap restaurant chain. I just saw lick it up record sleeve very faded with vv signiture at Edinburgh hard rock. My guess it's been in hard rock collection since release of lick it up.
I find it pretty odd so much vinnie stuff at hard rock

Cool! Thanks for that.
Can't tell what Floyd is on it though. May well be an NFT Floyd but looks more like a JT-6 Jackson branded one to be honest.
I'll hit them up and see if they are as nice as the staff at the Pattaya HR are and see if we can get some close up shots of this baby!
Pity we didn't know about this last year, as Vic could have got a few good snaps of her!
