Stumbled across this pic of vinnie with a white Jackson Rhoads in '83..

Is it just me or does it look doctored?

What the picture or the guitar? Is the guitar re-sprayed? - there is no logo on the headstock.

its from the same shoot where he has that guitar with his and behind his head.

It looks low quality and possibly slightly doctored in a bad way. looks like more contrast and a very poor scan.

as for the headstock.. thats weird.. no jackson logo.

it almost looks like VV has a wig too.

maybe jackson gave him this guitar to pose with. He did have a black one to with dot inlays. could have been a respray.. interesting that it has the white and gold thing going on like the Carvin.. maybe this is where that carvin look started.

i suppose the white and gold goes with his make up. maybe the pink didn't work as well with his make colors.

i wonder if this was for a jackson catalog that never happened.. it almost looks like its a thumbnail from a catalog

It's a strange pic Dino that's why I posted it... I've been a Kiss fan forever and I don't remember ever seeing this pic printed anywhere over the years...

Maybe this was painted black for the Lick It Up Tour.

Vinnie and his guitars... Who knows where all these guitars are now... He probably still has them all locked away somewhere never to see the light of day again...

the back ground looks like that final photo shoot in make up.

I have seen this photo on and off other the years.

i think this is the same photo shoot. check the back drop
obviously the color of the picture has changed from each shot but I believe 100% this is from the same shoot.

i maybe mistaken but i think this was the same photo shoot as the lick it up cover. they did were photographed first without make up and then with.. anyone know for sure if this is the one?

The two creatures pics are definitely the same photo shoot judging by the back drop it's just the lighting on Vinnie's pic isn't as good... The Lick it up shoot can't have been the same because Vinnie's hair is totally different from the LIU shoot?

Maybe unless this is a wig. His hair looks much fuller than I have ever seen it. But it may not be the lick it up shoot. I was just guessing

To quote Mark Knopfler, "Yeah buddy, that's his own hair"! Not a wig in my eyes. Hair looks like it did during the Creatures era! Lighting/shadows will do that! Maybe the camera flash obscured the Jackson logo??? But it is weird if there is no logo on there! It also looks like it's got a fine tuning Floyd too!

I'm wondering if Vin used this Rhoads live? I've certainly never seen another pic of him with this guitar...it's funny also because He's holding onto it as if he doesn't want it

remember a lot of the equipment was stuck in customs after the brazil tour... maybe this is a stand in..may not have been vinnie's rrv. i think maybe the hair has a lot of hairspray .. not sure if lighting and shadow can make hair look thicker but hairspray can . ha

i wish vv had not deleted the old guitar section ,, we had all the guitars on there.. maybe freddy remembers but now i think about it there maybe a live shot with the white one.

Shram - Great pic of Vin that you found! If I remember correctly I bought that magazine at a newsagent in Toowong here in Brisbane...back in 1989, It was called "Kiss Guitarists"! I ended up cutting out most of the pictures out of that magazine! There was an awesome pic of Vin on the cover too!

Ah,Toowong (no jokes Rick or Dan!) gateway to the Indooroopilly Shopping Mall!!!!! Ha ha ha!

Yeah I remember buying them from my newsagent too! I have Kiss Guitarists in my draw next to me at work as I write this now!!! I've all the pics and interviews on photobucket that I posted on the old board! I guess I should post them again!!!!

Ah the memories of walking into the Toowong Village and buying that mag at the age of 14, I must have read it at least 100 times! And being new to the guitar when I was this age I loved reading about all the lead guitarists from Kiss, great mag!! Rock Scene who did all these kiss specials from 1987 until around 1992 did some great work to promote kiss back then... I still have about 200 kiss magazines at my parents home in storage but I don't think I ever repurchased this issue, I'll have to check when I'm next over there...I have kiss exposed magazine and kiss collection among others but I think unwound remember if I had this issue.. I might pick a copy up on eBay purely for the Vinnie pics! Thanks for posting this Shram, it dislodged some old memories my friend!

200!!!!! Man, my stingey newsagent hardly ever got one! I usually had to trawl through various newsagents all over Cairns to try and get anything on Vinnie, Kiss or Maiden!
