Rare Vinnie Vincent Memorabilia To Be Auctioned
On October 12,2002 Guernsey’s will be auctioning off a large collection of rare and one of a kind Vinnie Vincent memorabilia from his days with KISS and Vinnie Vincent Invasion. This is the largest auction yet involving personally owned and used material from Vinnie. For those unable to attend the auction, bidding can be done on Ebay on October 12, 2002.
Among the items included in the auction are:
A pink Jackson V guitar used by Vinnie on Lick It Up (1983), Vinnie Vincent Invasion (1986), Guitars From Hell (1991), Euphoria (1996), and on both tours that he did with KISS.
The belt worn by Vinnie on the cover of the Lick It Up album.
Red shirt worn by Vinnie on the back cover of All Systems Go.
Faux black leather pants worn by Vinnie on the Lick It Up tour.
Pants and black suede boots worn by Vinnie on the back cover of All Systems Go.
Leather pants and boots worn by Vinnie as part of his everyday attire while with KISS.
One-of-a-kind jacket of Indian origin that was worn by Vinnie in the 1984 issue of Guitar World magazine.
Vinnie’s expired passport that was used during the 1983 KISS tour of Europe.
The original recording contract from 1985 between Vinnie and Chrysalis Records.
The shirt worn by Vinnie on the back cover of Vinnie Vincent Invasion.
19 pages of handwritten notes by Vinnie that map out his vision of Vinnie Vincent Invasion, including anticipated costs, who to thank, timing, and his strategy for producing and starring on the album.
Hand written lyrics from songs that he wrote or co-wrote with KISS, Vinnie Vincent Invasion, The Bangles, and his solo material.

hard rock must have bought the lot. the pink guitar is the one in cardiff at the hard rock and the pants are on the wall too. i think the other stuff is somewhere in the south of usa in a hard rock too.
so the same guitar was used on creatures tour all the way through to euphoria and had at least two new paint jobs.

heres a copy and past of another post I made that pertains to this stuff.
So is there any certificate of authenticity with the guitar (anything on the wall??) or do you think maybe its either one they made thats similar to hang on their wall? Dino - please get the serial # off of it, that will help me greatly to verify alot of info about it.
Or it could be a scenario like mine where Vinnie was offering to sell a guitar that he didnt have (or did have but didnt want to get rid of ??). He could have painted a Rhoads pink, told the hard rock "this is the guitar I used with Kiss etc and I will sell it for xx$$$".
My point is, just because the sign next to the guitar says what it does, I would have a really hard time believing it. Yet I could see someone from the hard rock buying the story because they dont know all of the insane things that we do about mr VV.
We have seen whats he been willing to do for some $ . Sorry, I hate to say it any more than you want to hear it but the guy is off his rocker. I just try to have sympathy for him (it is a sickness, after all) rather than anger.

i like to side with v on this one, as it would be seriously bad if it was not a v rhodes from the kiss era.. but i would like to know the story as it is for sure not clear. I looked for the serial but didn't find it. let me know a good place to look. i looked around the neck and a few places. what are jackson serials like, could it have been painted over.

Speaking of VV auctions , I have a book at home from Sothebys auction house . It is full of stuff from a huge Kiss auction from the late 90's (I can find out exactly when). Anyway, they auctioned off a shit ton of Vinnies creatures era stage wear - boots, outfits, armbands, just a ton of cool ass shit. I didnt follow it at the time as I was a depressed Kiss and VV fan during that time period as that was not long after I felt VV tried to con me out of some $ for a guitar. I love looking at that book now though, I see them on ebay occasionally. If someone wanted I guess I could take a digital pic or 2 of the VV stuff and attach it on here.

the usa jacksons have them on the last fret at the end of the neck .. if there is no serial no I would be highly suspicious .. is it a neck thru jackson? if not it will be on the end plate at the back

no the serial number is 100% not on the end of the neck.
What I would ask Hard Rock is
Vinnie never had a pink rhodes on the creatures tour.
Vinnie never had a pink headstock on any rhodes photographed and for sure not on the lick it up tour.
No serial number on neck
Tremolo not original
Jackson logo seems to be the more perfected one and not the early 80s one that looked hand done.
Color in photo next to guitar not the same as the one on the wall (headstock and body slightly different pink).
Can you explain what this guitar is and how come its not exactly the same as the ones he was seen with in Kiss?

the only catch is, IF (and I would bet my entire collection of guitars that this isnt the case) that guitar were somehow the original gold one from the Creatures tour, then its possible that it might not have a serial #. It is a known fact that that particular guitar was one of the first 5 guitars that Grover Jackson ever made (on his own as Jackson , not incl Charvel, etc) so maybe he wasnt set up just yet for doing serial #'s on them? That guitar was being built for Randy but was not finished until after his death. Thats one of the reasons it has a few changes compared to Randys black offset V, the gold one had reverse inlays, plus the inlays are a tad bit larger than Randys black one, as well as rosewood fretboard, - there is a shit ton of discussion on this at the Jackson site I am on (jcfonline.com) and I have seen some NAMM show video where they are interveiwing someone from Jackson who had alot of good info on it.
Pretty stinkin cool though that VV had a guitar that was actually built for Randy Rhoads though, huh?

yes, i thought that it may have been one of the first ones and no serial number, i think its a simple case of it needs to be cleared up. thats all.

the other thing is that a black and white pick up had been put back in it from the days of the sweden expo. not sure if it was the original or not. I wonder why the sweden expo v didn't have the neck pick up in it.

Christ, do you guys ever stop and think about all of the f-ing mysteries we deal with on this guy??? Seriously, I am enthralled to no end that in this day and age (computer age) that I think there is less drama, scandal, mystery, etc than at area 51 !!
We should make a movie, but I would be afraid no one wold believe it!

Mike Shannon would be the person at Jackson that I would think could be helpful - he was there from the beginning. Grover is of no help whatsoever these days as we have seen.

heres a youtube vid from the auction house. I havent watched it for awhile (this is #1 of 3) but I know at the very end you can see VV's creatures costume on a mannequin.

haha. this what makes vv great. maybe he doesn't realise it.
The thing is if that rhodes was actually the one being made for Randy Rhodes it is more significant than if it was used by VV, in fact the value would be in Randy more than Vinnie. If it is the one for Randy then its a little sad it had at least 2 re-sprays.

That's the KISS auction from 2000,i have that catalog

VV is getting to be more known as a guy that goes to court than as a guitar player. That is very sad. And everyone know there is only one (or two) winners in court and thats the lawyers.

i think the other stuff from 2002 is in Biloxi Mississippi if my memory serves me.
