My analogy about newbies & this forum is like this. We you first learn to swim, you don't jump head first into the deep end. You first test the waters at the shallow end & over time you build confidence & swim towards the deeper ends. Just like this forum. Get to know the people your dealing with. I post as if everything I write will be read by Vinnie- I praise his talent and bust his balls.
All of us know each other here because of multiple years of Vinnie fandom. We are very familiar with each other's personalities and as you can see, we use our real names within the posts.
No one means anything horrible by their words. It really is brotherly here. You can tell someone where to go and still be friends. No censorship. Our youngest member is a 17 years old male (Lil' Jack Horny) so we push the limits A LOT.

I suggest that you introduce yourself in the New Member's Section with at least your first name ,age,interests, what neck of the world you live in, how long you've been a fan, etc...
I try to take the high road when there is a disagreement and I hope you can do the same. The guys and girls of the forum will calm down . I think they took offense to the fact that they didn't know you and you came down on us a bit hard. ALL IS FAIR when you are a friend though, so , just introduce yourself.

If you really investigate the lunacy of this forum(to which Vinnie has contributed ) you will see that everyone is cool and not so mean spirited.

I appreciate your effort to smooth thing over, Rick, but I'm not putting out that much information about myself, not now. My instincts tell me to quit the forum and don't look back. Maybe I'm too stubborn for my own good, but I'm not completely discouraged. Yet. Seeing as how there's no other real VV fan forum out there (unless I learn another language), I thought I'd at least let you know what was putting me off. Just too much hostility in the air, masked with humor, but still very hostile. It's hurtful to me to read some of the 'joking' comments made about Vinnie because I like him. And I'm taking the news of 'how he treats his fans' with a grain of salt, because a lot of it appears to be just speculation and jumping to conclusions.

Seriously, who wants to participate in a fan forum where you're being told your idol doesn't even know you but hates you anyway? I don't believe Vinnie hates his fans.

Since 1986 when I first heard bad things written about him until last year when i had contact with him (backed up proof) I didn't want to believe it too , like you.

if you want to read the italian thing, its run by crazy guys who make up interviews and run a fake vinnie vincent facebook account that tricked many famous musicians (and still does).

Its fine if you don't want to hear the truth and just enjoy the music etc, just like i did.. but its a fact of being a vv fan. He has started against his fans who spent years and years being very positive and I believe why VV decided to make a come back.. but then he pulls all this shit on the fans again, like in the 90s and its pretty dissapointing.

I did a lot for vv including happily givening the .com domain and forum over to him without asking for anything in return and then a few months later out of nowhere deletes me and acts like I am some sort terrible person.

on top of that (not that i asked or expected it) but off his own back he told me a great package was in the post twice which I got excited about but it then turned out to be another lie and brocken promise.

He is a user and doesn't care about anyone which in return reflects on why people treat him the way they do... he gets treated the way he treats others.

I have proof and that includes emails from his lawyer too. They have all been shown before, but if you don't believe it then thats fine and I understand where you are coming from.

As bad as Vinnie is, there has always been a place for fans to discuss him and his talents and especially now his shortcomings too.

We tried the nice approach but you can't have any kind of freedom of speech or expression with Vinnie, so when he took over Dino's forum it went downhill very fast, and now we are here.

Vinnie brings the negativity with his actions. Did you read how he belittled the fans who actually bothered to photograph his new guitars at NAMM and report about them here and elsewhere? Saying they were crap bootlegs and not to be trusted as true representations of his masterworks. Guitars he's never even seen so how would he know?

It's bad enough to say those things but what did he provide to the world? Nothing! Only catalogs for $50 that never got printed anyway.

Listen to Dino, he knows what he's talking about. He got close and paid the price.

Make no mistake, we all can't get enough of Vinnie's talents, but he's not going to get away with shit like he has in the past. We are not as dumb as he'd like us to be.

We do wish him the best and for him to get a dose of reality cause the second coming of Hendrix he ain't so the world at large can only laugh at the 9k price tag on one of his guitars.

It would be a great surprise for Vinnie to just be nice and welcoming and accept us with our flaws along with accepting his own flaws.

My life became easier when I started to accept others critique and/or praise. If other people care enough to share their opinions about me WITH ME, then I think they are worthy to here what I believe to be MY truth.
The truth is always somewhere in the middle and if you want the full truth about yourself, LOOK THERE.
It took me many years to get past that fear but I am rewarded in the fact now that I have a better understanding of myself.
