Well, when an ex-Kiss member does stuff like this it becomes news. Even more so in today's internet world.

I can only imagine the fuss the fake Peter Criss homeless guy would have gotten had it happened today.

The story (Vincent's) actually made a national newspaper in the UK which is pretty suprising :

Nothing new, but they did use a cool early Vincent/Kiss picture!

All tabloids apart from the local papers.

Most of the news is coming from newsfeeds attached to tmz. I think only two written stories and a partial wriiten one in the rockpages.com

If VV walks away from this, does anyone think he can use this media attention to relaunch his career?

If he does it quickly I think it may help actually. But in 6 months people will have forgotten.

But he will charge $150 per cd and no one will buy. His comment about Speedball jamm selling for $100 is wrong. It lists for that but no one buys it.

I'm surprised at the coverage too, I honestly thought he was no longer news worthy, but I guess it's the nature of the arrest and the dog thing that makes people curious about it. Sad thing is it's more weird showbiz gossip than news.

Even my 15 yr old daughter told me she'd seen it on the news, and she has no interest in Kiss at all other than what she hears from me.

The interests comes more from the kiss link rather than vinnie himself.

It's actually bad for kiss in a small way.

"The public's a bunch of assholes." - Charles Manson.

The above quote is interesting because 1) it's largely correct, and 2) was stated by a madman. Just because someone's crazy doesn't mean they're always wrong. And, conversely, just because someone's allegedly NOT crazy doesn't make them right.

I'm just waiting for the next time Ace is in the news (probably for his book release?) and someone'll say, "Wait, didn't he just beat up his wife and kill all his dogs?" Everyone gets shit wrong ALL the time, even casual "fans" are too dumb to know what's what.

All the best,
PAULIE

PS I'm not a Don Henley fan at all, but this came to mind... Sing along!

"We got the bubbleheaded bleach-blonde, comes on at 5
She can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye
It's interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation? Is the head dead yet?
You know the boys in the newsroom got a running bet
Get the widow on the set, we need dirty laundry

You don't really need to find out what's going on
You don't really want to know just how far it's gone
Just leave well enough alone, keep your dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down"

Found it interesting that they mention what happend with the old board.

"His most recent interaction with fans was to take over a forum at their invitation, only to berate them for their comments, say the lack of any new material was their fault, then shut down the forum."

I wonder who spoke to them about the board. He got that part spot on. Part of my condition was when I gave him the domain it was going to be used for the fans instead of locked away, another broken promise. He always shows his full colors.
