Ok - I really need to say something ... now

I have held back long enough and I have that 'gnawing in my soul' feeling again so I'm speaking up ... now.

Are you ready? Brace yourselves because I might end up stirring at least one pot on the stove.

I need to say that no living person except Vinnie really knows what happened that night. The reports do not say it was Vinnie that reeked of alcohol.

I am not taking sides here but providing another prospective and defending Vinnie from so much that has yet to be fully proven.

I've never touched alcohol but have seen many who have and I have seen first hand how those under the influence, fall over constantly (hurting themselves), have no memory of anything, sputter non-sense etc.

I do not want to point out the many things that gnaw at me about what Diane claims because I am here for Vinnie and this is about Vinnie.

Many of us here ... maybe even most of us were shocked beyond belief when we heard or read that supposedly Vinnie abused Diane. There was much doubt that Vinnie could be hurtful.

There are so many possiblities as to what really could have happened and I say with much conviction that I believe Vinnie whole-heartedly and would truly bet my life that he is innocent of purposly instigating and inflicting bodily harm to Diane.

A woman under the influence in a jealous mood, with numerous dogs, broken glass that was strangly just there on the floor ... many thoughts are drawn from inconclusive information and assumptions.

How difficult is is to grab a handful of thin, short hair and drag them (and they are heavier than yourself) across the floor and over broken glass? This person would be fighting back, you would think, right? Difficult feat, yes? Please try to envision this unlikey event. I personally CAN NOT see this.

People who have weak blood (even other factors like meds) can cause someone to bruise easily. I am a healthy person (no meds, no blood disorders) who constantly acquires bruises that have no rhymn or reason.

If Vinnie says he wouldn't ever physically hurt anyone .. then I believe him and I feel it is best all around, from this point on... not just for Vinnie but for our forum, to avoid negativly judging Vinnie. It's easy to assume and draw conclusions from police reports but they are also incomplete. There are two sides toe very story.

We are all huge Vinnie fans ... through his music, we can touch his heart and soul. There are no lies there in the truest part of his expression ...

... in his music, is where you can be present in his greatest truth.

I am there.

Perhaps when you are there ... truly there, you will see ther same as I ... a man who is innocent of the sickening projection that has been placed upon him before ALL the facts could be presented.

I'm not at all condoning his actions, but what I will say is that someone (aka Vinnie) staying cooped up indoors all day every day will eventually drive you crazy. I'm not sure if Diane works or not, but if she doesn't then maybe the same applies to her, i.e. paranoia.

Yep, as a guitarist and songwriter I am a big fan. But Vinnie the person? I don't know him personally but the way he has behaved (to the very fans who keep his memory alive) is despicable.

Love your Post n3p & wolfgang. I agree with you guys 100%.Vinnie has a track record of psychopathic behaviour. Just cause he is a great guitarist & song writer doesn't excuse his behaviour. And doesn't exonerate him of his pasted sins. Wonder what the late Anne Marie & his (till recently) estranged children would have to say about Saint Vinnie. Silence speaks volumes. Why would the twins have been estranged for so long from their father if it was great a human being. Blood and bruises does NOT always equate to a beating.

While the police reports describe how she looked upon arrival, the reports only tell her side of the story ... they go from point A to point Z.

It was noted that she was reeking of alcohol ... I am not make assumptions or using it against her, only being sure to point out that once drunk, people often don't know up from down.

Vinnie hasn't been found guilt of anything needing to be justified yet ... regarding this case.

So ... it is believed that Vinnie beat his wife becasue she had been bleeding, was bruised and had other injuires despite other factors like Vinnie's loyal dogs, her being drunk and in a jealous manner, glass on the floor that has its own story. I'm only trying to show the many possiblities ... not point fingers at Diane.

She was drunk (noted by police )and acting in a jealous manner (her words were they fought over a woman he had been speaking to) ... this is all noted in the report.

I pointed these things out to illustrate that there are holes in the story she provided as a police report and Vinnie deserves his innocence 'until proven guilty' as it is said.

I will adddress this once and only once:
I do not know Vinnie personally, have never seen him in person, nor spoken to him via phone, email, etc.

I am a loving, caring fan determined to defend him when due and provide all the love and support he needs to get through this.

My own mother at a friend's house, once drank about 5 glasses of red wine on a half full stomach and the following day, could not remember much of the previous day ... she did not reek of alcohol but it was clear that she was highly imparied in many ways.

She was 5'7" and around 175 pounds with a large frame.

I just wonder how much credibility exists for a story from someone who was impaired.

This thread now has become a documented history of peoples valued view points over a 2 day period of time.
