Here's mine ... which happens to be ... probably my favorite, totally awesome, devastating-guitar, non-Vinnie-vocal song:

This was offered to Lita Ford to record by Vinnie but she never used the song because it sounded too much like a soundtrack to a film

It could have worked in a Sly Stallone movie

it has that sort of theme...

It totally does!
Would have been a huge movie soundtrack hit if it had been used. Hollywood missed out for sure!

Hard to say, cause depending on my mood. But an all rounder that ticking all the boxes, crossing the tees, dotting the eyes, I'd say 'That time of Year' for me. Wasn't when I was 18 years, but it's like a fine scotch, it gets better with time. I listen to this song pretty much every single day & I never get tired of it. This song has great structure, great production & lyrical content to live up to standing the test of any time period. If this was re-released by a pop diva, it would be huge.

no debate for me .. Invincible! I hope to hear the original from the GFH one day and hopefully its still over 7 mins long. Also hope Andre's drums are still on the track.
Second equal would be Back on the Streets and I still love you, That time of year, Ashes to Ashes, Exciter and Invasion. EPIC songs! They have everything.
just behind those, I love it loud, Killer, Not for the Innocent, Million to one, Substitute, Full Shred, Wild Child, Love Kills, I wanna be your victim.
I would have loved for VVI to play Exciter, Killer, Million to One, Not for the innocent and Invasion live and maybe fits like a glove and young and wasted. Kind of how Frehley's Comet played the old Ace Kiss tunes. It would have been great to hear them VVI style and Invasion seemed to be missing from the live set.. maybe because it didn't sound good with one guitar???

Wolfi, there is also a song called breakout by Eric Carr & Ace Frehley.. It was recorded by Frehleys Comet & a demo version between Eric & Ace recorded during 1981 was released on Revenge as Carr Jam 81 but Ace was overdubbed by Bruce Kulick...

i am not a 'youngblood' guy. I like Over You a lot.. i think if vv had added lapsteel to some of his songs (like over you) he would have had a unique killer sound.

For some reason, Mark seems to cop a real bashing here.
I really like his vocals on Ashes, and personally would prefer them over Pauls in this case

I really like Marks voice on ASG...So much so I was emulating it in my first band.

i think its just the live performances that get a bashing (especially from the first tour). I think he did a great job on ASG. When I was a kid I liked his voice better than Roberts.
I think Paul is good however.

Paul and Gene's vocals were best on LIU, they just had an edge to them, the whole album did.

Ecstacy should have been a # 1 HIT!
The lyrics!!!
The guitar riffs and solo!!!!!
The harmonyies!!!!!!!!!
... and heck, Mark sounded really good on this one!
If there had been a video released ... it would have gone straight to #1

Lots of asg tunes should have been hits. It seems like the record company wanted a more commercial record yet didnt spend any time or Money on advertising . The only reason I can think is they knew slaughter was coming.. it was confirmed that Traci guns was asked to join slaughter while the band were still together.
Also weird was the first single was a ballad. I can not recall any band releasing a ballad as the first single.

Yes ASG wasn't pushed. I hadn't seen TTOY video till about 2 years ago. Zero air play in Australia & the release of ASG was basically a non event. Saw Love kills on a Mtv Nightmare on Elm street special but that was about it. Remember seeing Dokken's Dream Warriors all the time on multiple networks, but not VVI. A real shame. I could count the number of VVI fans in Sydney at that time on one hand. All the dumb teeny boopers jumped on to the S-laughter band wagon & 'Up all night' got played heaps,

If I remember correctly & I might be wrong cause this is 20+ years ago, there was a movie called Summer School that I loved, A very funny flick.. It had a VVI tune during a roller coaster scene... Twisted I think??
They did well to get a tune on Elm Street 4...

Hands down
boyz are gonna rock
and it has nothing to do with it being a single or anything
Its just so boysy
But i love the warrior demo of that song even more, it had vinnie himself on vocals i think? Great raw vocals
He shouldve done all the vocals himself but i guess that wouldve been hard to do live
ASG is a bit too pop metal for my tastes but still good stuff and great lyrics, love kills has the best chorus
And GFH is like Vinnie Vincent Invasion II its so brilliant and it has balls
Shockeeeeeer dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun duuuuun
Shockeeeeeer
Aaaaaaaaaaah
VINNIE JUST RELEASE IT ALREADY!

Love kills was back ground music in the film.. a bit of a joke to make a video with freddy in it. I bet it was supposed to be more prominent. It's hardly a nightmare sounding tune. It would have been grest to hear a specificly written nightmare tune like dokken did.

Summer School has Animal playing in it. I wrote about it here somewhere before. The movie was on TV later in the 80's at home and I got a huge shock hearing Animal being played. It was in a party scene. Crazy stuff, would love to know how a VVI tune, especially that one, got into the movie.

truthfully I have not listened to a lot of tunes since the 80s. I think that weird since I am on these boards so much.
