So, all this Vinnie activity lately has got me listening to VVI, ASG and the crap-EP.
The one thing I've noticed is how low the bass is in the overall mix. It's one of those rare occasions where I think it doesn't necessarily hurt the music, but if you listen hard enough to VVI there's some kick-ass bass work going on. I think the music would be even better re-mixed with the bass bumped up louder in the mix.

note: I have compared to the original CDs and the re-mixes that were released in the 2-CD set a few years ago. Both about the same IMO.

Yeah the bass work is awesome in songs like Breakout where you can actually hear it
but the bass couldve been a bit higher in most songs, then they wouldve been even wickeder
Then again I use pretty good headphones which boosts the bass up a bit
And THEN again you know, VVI is supposed to be all over the top loud guitars high vocals
so the drum and bass are kinda pushed into the background
personally I always mix the bass pretty high on the albums i play on, slade-style/motorhead-style

Motorhead = also hellzyeah!!

You can hear the bass ok on I Wanna Be, but yeah it seems Vinnie's intent was for lots of HIGH frequencies, LOTS of them, ha ha.

A remix would be interesting, hopefully one where they don't change any of the songs formats.

I haven't listened to the remasters that came out, I have the originals on my Ipod still.
