Being a drummer myself I really don't have any real knowledge, but I remember reading on a forum once that this was not a great guitar. Am I remembering that correctly?

True but its mainly for collection not so much the playing, i have plenty of Les Pauls for that.
Although i have heard mixed reports from its awesome to its crap so who knows really.

I always wondered why Ace put his name on it if he never intended to use it? He could've made a deal with any company for any model he wanted, right?

I paid $700 for mine new.
I wouldn't pay more than $1400 now for a MINT one.
They are super guitars.
Nothing like a Les Paul though which makes more sense for ACE.

Couple of options, Legacy can do a blank body and i can build it up OR Ed Roman ( god forgive me ) makes them as well.
Original wise i would go $1400-1500 tops and i did notice both that were on ebay didnt sell.

Maybe talk to the seller. I am pretty sure Ed would build you one but it would cost a bomb!!

Ed Roman price...DRUM ROLL....$5500 - $6000 !!!! i almost fell off my chair with laughter is this guy a complete wanker or what ?? is the guitar made by the hands of Ace Frehley himself, does Jesus actually walk the earth and go to Vegas to bless it, is it made from alien material gathered from Area 51 ????? so many questions i have for this insane pricing.

From what I gather, Ed's "people" will make you ANYTHING, it will be expensive but it will be fantastic quality.

To make a guitar like that from scratch would take a lot of work if you don't have the templates and make them every day.

People who have his stuff to say it's fantastic, but it cost a lot, so that's why I predicted it would cost a bomb!

Plus freight, plus import duty, you'd be looking at closer to $7000

I believe that he has a body template for this model as well as most others that you can dream of. Your right in that I've never ran across anyone who actually owns one of the guitars that he builds that didn't say that it was top quality. He does however expect big bucks for his custom guitars though.

Maybe he doesn't want to make it? I've worked with suppliers before who have told me that particular projects were going to be so much trouble that they over-priced their estimate to either discourage the project or to make an unwanted project more palatable.

I almost cracked & was going to purchase a metallic flack burgundy one from ebay. But they guys was asking way too much for the postage. Also there was a nice flake purple, but the seller didn't get back to me. The hunt is still on

I have the crimson bolt model. You didn't imagine it !!!!

I bought it 15 years ago in Cincinnati, Ohio at a place called Mike's Music. I believe I got it for $700.00 US.
A total piece of shit but I had to have it because it looks so cool.

You could have stayed dude but you had to get to Eastern Pennsylvania or New York by the next morning...

I never saw the red variation before. It's actually cooler than the standard!
I'm not a guitar player, but it looks like it would be awkward to play.
