http://azguitars.wordpress.com/

I am sure the guitars are very good. Interesting he is working on 4 vv guitars. That is good news. no pre-order. my guess is one is pink/silver. one is white/gold, one is silver/purple and the other is gold/gold . just a good guess lol.

but this is good news . i am behind tom on this and its a great thing they have samples. i actually hope it works for tom more than anyone.

You think it's the VVV's he's referring to? I'm sure he builds great guitars but they better not be 8k each. That's just not gonna fly with a lot of people.

I hope it all goes well for him.

I just read "four custom guitars". Are all four Vinnie models ? He makes other guitars still ,doesn't he?

I think he set up shop to build the vv model. I am 99.9% sure those four are vv models for the catalog.

Cool stuff Dino. Let's hope we get a look at them one day.

what i want to know is can people banned from the doublev board buy one? and looks like 001 has been taken by suzie q-vv if she is correct in saying she is getting the pink/silver on youtube and my old board. Too bad number 001 has gone but congrats suzie . Tom better make 2 pink ones and get suzies's deposit quick. funny how such an out going person doesn't post here anymore. maybe suzie will change her mind a free up the first one, some how I think she may.

Let's see these guitars first and see how they are to be sold.

I hope that Tom doesn't end up doing all this for nothing as the line-up to purchase won't be long at all.

tom is smart i am sure and knows his risks. i am certain he is a good guy and vinnie is lucky to have him. i just fear the price will yield no sales at all. But if 4 are made i am sure they will eventually be sold. But I am not god of knowing about guitar sales and prices. To me 3k seems high but fairer.

only 256 views of the vv guitar on youtube. i thought more interest actually. none of the kiss sites are allowed to post any vv stuff. if you notice he is the only member none of the sites other than kissfaq link to.

i was wondering if AZG guitars are related to the AZG Custom amps

i don't think tom is involved with AZG amps

i hope its all clear with them to use the name.

i also think vinnie needs to show proof he used the pear guitar eg picture in studio etc.

I know it was sent to him but was it actually used? Ed Roman said (and I know he is not trustworthy but he for sure worked or works with Pear) said that it was sent to Vinnie for approval and was never returned.

Well, there has never been a picture of Vinnie doing anything with the guitar. You never see them together.

Vinnie should have had Jackson build more VVV's, they are the famous guitars of his career. He only had the Carvin for ASG, which is when the band broke up.

yes, i bet jackson would have agreed to put the VV model out, but not for the kind of money he wants.

Pear will be good, i am sure but like i say I can not see anyone paying more than 3k and even that is high. I could be wrong, but for sure they know that at that price they will not fly of the shelves. It will be a good idea to have some stock though. Jackson were going to make one for 2500 until they were told from the top they can not make them.

I also think the woods they had in the 80s were better sounding than the stuff they use now but thats just an opinion. I think they used up the good stuff in the 80s. Its hard to find that real dark black ebony these days so I am told.

Posted: Tue Aug 17, 2010 9:11 am
by Genebaby
Most ebony is stained to give the black look. In the 80s there was really nice ebony.

I think at 8k they will be lucky to sell a few. The market is just not there.

An ultra expensive, high end guitar is not the first thing that should become available to the limited Vinnie fanbase. Music we can afford is the way to go.

my neighbour makes nice guitars and bought some ebony that was used as flooring from an old mansion the other day and that is real nice ebony.

zion has great ebony, i havent seen where he dies or stains the boards at all i have been to the factory and saw everything there and have had talks with dale and never came to any indication that was happening with ebony...
strange people say that i guess its like old japan boss pedals vs korean ones i have had em both and hey i cant tell the difference between the 2 hey thats just me..

good luck to tom hope he doesnt get burned .. and good luck to suzie ( or VV) in buying his own guitar.

with the way jackson is doing repros of artist guitars lately if vinn would get his act together maybe we would see another double v in the future

i think he has a grudge against jackson. i am certain it will never happen. i well priced vv from jackson would be awesome, but who's to say if they can match the 80s sound etc.

a direct comment from Dan Lawrence from an email he sant me back in the day

It’s true they discontinued that model over the name game. Now that Fender owns Jackson any model or graphic that has an artist’s name in the description, Vinnie Vincent “Vâ€

Posted: Thu Sep 16, 2010 7:09 am
by Genebaby
Yeah, being legally scared because somone's name became associated with a colour or style is crazy.

Kirk Hammett actually owns the graphic on one of his guitars, so that's a different story, but shit, a burst like Jake used to have on his strat? Who cares. Next white guitars will be out if you ask for a Jake E. Lee white....

the thing is the guitar seems to never have been officially named. It was called in some guitar magazines the 'double v' but i never saw anything that actually came out and called it the jackson vinnie vincent series.

I would think whoever made it first is cool to still make it. I think it goes deeper than that or its too time consuming to make. Just guessing however.

well if you look at the quality of my guitar .. yes it wasnt an easy make .. is HIGHLY detailed beyond anything I have ever held in my hands (Shramiak calm yourself haha)

anyways they put MASSIVE effort into my poor beat up axe .. maybe it wasnt financially viable with dickhead demanding more cash for it

Jackson were peeved with difficult designs, of which the VVV was one. If Vinnie was being financially painful thanks to having little business sense then it could have killed it off for them.

It was never featured in a catalog by Jackson.

WHAT!!!!! What do people think about me!!!!! :P

I think too that Jackson had a right to be peeved with Vinnie at the time as he followed the Paul route and "whored" (sorry, can't think of better word) himself to as many guitar companies as he could at the time. Pre-ASG photoshoot with the Washburn, Love Kill's Ibanez and the Carvin.

I would rather pay 8000.00 for a hooker than buy that shit pile.Or better yet just keep saving and someday the rare jackson will pop up somewhere.Well probably not but you can always dream

A Jackson will always have better resale and collectibility. Unless Vinnie does something completely new and uses the new guitar to become associated with it, it will never have the legitimacey of the Jacksons.

You could get one for less than this guitar and you'll be better off.

You can't sit on your ass in your house and do a comeback with a very expensive guitar.

Posted: Wed Oct 06, 2010 6:59 am
by doublev
correct. if he was seen playing it a few times it could have some resale but that 8k would drop to about 2k instantly on the second hand market.

What's the normal gestation period for a guitar that's supposedly already "ALIVE". That little motherfucker better pop out of the womb soon before it's stillborn.

if they find some store to sell it I could see it happening but its not going to happen if VV or TP have to sell it directly. My opinion.

Guitar Center or bust. Followed by a Vinnie clinic/meet and greet tour. I've said it before when Vinnie (?) asked on this board ( Cox ISP-New Haven,Connecticut area -where he has family).

Vinnie would have to answer some very difficult questions if he went that route.

we will never see vinnie again, i am pretty sure. old music and guitar maybe, but no pictures, tour, workshops or interviews. i just don't think he could handle the public in anyway or form regarding the way he treats fans.

You know Bob Hope...we got No Hope of the V doin' anything.

No Vinnie in the public eye to face the music, explain himself and then move forward with "the new stuff" means stuff all sales of something like a high end guitar. At a decent price of $2000 you might get some interested fans "try" to buy one but 8K+, forget about it!

Music might do better as long as the payment went through a trusted source. He could probably just release that and stay quiet, but a big ticket item like a guitar? Not a chance, people would want to see him playing it and talking about it etc.

I am considering one on 70s cheeseburger colors. Like the colors macdonalds restaurants in the 70s. Brown front a yellow like a Burger bun rear, orange pick ups. Maple fingerboard, brown reverse painted headstock. I an vegatarian so I may call it the vege cheese Burger.

You guys are right, proper promotion is important and a product that is available helps a lot too.

The signs so far are not good, nobody on this earth that doesn't reside in the Vinnie Camp seems to know anything about the status of this.

Tom, talk to someone at least will you, we're getting worried.
