Original Invasion drummer

Has anybody heard about an original Invasion drummer before Bobby?

The story goes that the band was doing an Instore at Worcester and when they returned to the venue for the show most of their equipment had been seized by a local Sheriff.

Dana said, "It happened because of an original drummer wo was supsed to be in Invasion. Usually if you're a musician and something doesn't work out, you just walk away and start a new thing.

This particular guy felt that Vinnie owed him more than that, so he got a Writ of Attachment which basically says that Vinnie travels all over the workd and they have no reason to believe he'll show up for a court date.

To make sure he shoes up, they confiscated our equipment to has to go back and get it. They still haven't set a court date and meanwhile we still don't have our equipment.

We're playing on rented equipment from SIR in New York. We sprayed painted all their equipment pink. We had a choice; either live on, or sue these guys back and not play.

The record is doing great, so we rented gear and moved on"

Any idea's on the story on that? It would be around early 87 time period I think, or at least sometime during the first album tour.

Have you ever heard of the VVI having their gear confiscated?

It was [allegedly] Hirsh. Vinnie had basically [allegedly] worked with him for months following his "departure" from KISS, and Hirsh [allegedly] felt cut out of the song-writing credits for material that was used on the VVI album. There was an online interview with Hirsch that went into some details about the issues - you'd have to Google it.

It sounds familiar. Didn't someone here mention that the Invasion had to do a show with borrowed/rented gear ?

Probably me above?

Does anyone know the outcome? I guess they got the gear back?

Dino, tell us more, sounds very interesting. I guess he was pissed at not being in the band anymore?

DirtyRhythm, please find what you've got and post, that would be awesome, thanks.

i am not in a position to say what happend as i heard it second hand, but something about Myron not getting paid and something about a song credit he was not given. I think it was Boston or somewhere in new england where he showed up and they tried to capture vv's guitars or something. its very vague. maybe pyro knows more. or speak to myron.

Looking at it now I wonder how true this is. I never saw pictures of v with rented equipment. Genebaby, I didn't read your post well enough, yes Worcester was the show that was reported. Gary who like Myron was in Alcatraz (I think ) speaks openly about Vinnie, he would know the story.

If it was painted pink anyway, how would you know if a picture showed their own or hired backline?

Forgot about that. Sounds doubtful they would paint hired stuff doesn't it. You can't really do that.

You're right its a bit naughty (naughty) but then, they're the Vinnie Vincent Invasion, they think they're going to be the biggest thing since Zepp at this stage... I reckon if they wanted to they'd just paint it, as it was a big part of the look, then just say sorry to the hire company later and pay a fine for the hire company to re-paint them again...

Not sure if all or any of his Double V's were taken. There is no way you can replace those on short notice, it would have to be a Rhoads or King V if he was desperate.

personally I am starting to think the Myron story to not be true or not exactly true.

Drummers linked with VV before Bobby..

Myron,
Greg Bissonette,
Fred Coury.

I get Myron and Hirsch mixed up. In my weird mind they are the same guy. I am color blind regarding Myron and Hirsch.. can not tell the difference.

Yes Hirsh Gardner was in New England (the Band) He was also associated with "Warrior" the band Vinnie was working on before he joined KISS.

... and New England supported Kiss on the Dynasty tour. Is that the same New England? Is that how Vinnie first met Gene, through Hirsch, I wonder? Or is it just co-incidence?

I believe Paul Stanley produced the New England album in the late 70's..
