Look who is number 1 and who is no where in site. What a shame - so much talent and so little recognition. All of these players are great technicians but they are all not great song writers and technicians both.

It's always good to see Shawn Lane with his Charvel 750XL.
Paul Gilbert is a monster!!!
Vinnie has the playing and songwriting/lyrics/melodies and beat them all but gets no recognition.

Jason Becker was like 17 on the first cacophony record. The guy is so good. Vinnie never got that kind of respect for some reason. He was never in top 10 polls etc.

Some of those guys are a joke and so boring. Becker, Gilbert , Vincent, Friedman are in a different league.

Btw. Speaking of Paul Gilbert. Here is a video of him and Marty Friedman. The two are playing the KISS song, "C'mon and love me" in the intro. Really cool vid.

Yes! Though his solo is the most boring on Live Extreme Volume 1! Most of Mr Big and most of his solo stuff is great! AND most importantly he is an awesome guy I'm lead to believe

If vinnie had just been a cool guy he would be winning these things but he burnt himself in the industry and with fans.

Gilbert's Rocket Roll II is bad ass I have a 81 destroyer II would love to find a rocket in good shape
Vinnie was a great writer and player ( I have no idea about now ) but some one would have to remember you to put you one the list. To most people he was a blip on the radar of the music scene. Django Reinhard was insanely fast in his time... but no one remembered him.
And to be honest every single guy in that list has produce more music than Vinnie except possibly Shane and he died in 03 I think, and had lots of medical problems most his life and still pushed forward. Even Becker with ALS was writing aided by computer. The rest continue to play and put out music, instructional DVDs. Even MAB and he's like 56.
Just IMHO
