So, anybody interested in the upcoming launch of the new Iphone or Iphones?
I've been holding off getting some kind of Android device, with the HTC Sensation being my current favourite, waiting to see how slick the new Iphone will be.
I'm hoping it works as well and has great battery life like the Iphone 4 has from people I know who use them.
The Galaxy SII is fantastic but just doesn't have the battery I am looking for in case of decent/heavy use.
We're still not sure what is being released, an Iphone 5, an Iphone 4S, or both? Guess we'll know in a few days.

I'm on my 2nd iPhone 4! 1st lasted 2 weeks and the speakers died! 2nd one ok but slide to answer doesn't work every 3rd or 4th call and it's freezing up every now and then too! Bad build quality I'd say! Battery I have to charge every 30-35 hours! I won't last 2 full days!!!! So if the 5 is better than that.........it'll be an improvement! I've heard they've dropped the resolution on the screen though!!!??? Slightly longer screen so some of the vertical pixels had to be sacrificed!

There shouldn't be a loss of resolution, it should be improved everywhere due the larger screen this bad boy has.
I want to feel safe that it can take a full day, charging every night is ok if I can hammer it and not get caught out.
Everyone I know with a 4 loves it, the 3 series were not good enough with low res and no multi tasking.

Hmm...doesn't seem right that the screen will increase in size yet have less pixels....we wait until the 4th in the US for clarification!

I have an iPhone 4 and I'm really satisfied with it. We'll see what the iPhone 5 has to offer, maybe I'll switch to that one if the changes are revolutionary compared to the iPhone 4. Otherwise I'll just wait until the iPhone 6 comes out.

Holy crap! So yesterday morning (my time) we discover the new phone is the Iphone 4S, which I should be getting next Friday when it's released here, and this morning we find out Steve Jobs has passed away!
Bit of a shock I must say. I guess he really was quite ill. RIP Steve.

Shame about Steve, seemed like a great guy.
I am always super excited for a new Iphone and am reserving mine tomorrow. Fun fact - between me and my wife we have had a 12 Iphones all together since they have been released!!! She has lost 4 of them, dropped one in the toilet last week and ruined it , and I have busted (accidentally) several. I found a company last year though that makes a killer protective case (otterbox) and I havent broke one since.
Speaking of Apple products I figured you guys would get a kick out of these pics of my Ipod.

its an Otterbox , defender series. You can damn near bounce your phone off the ground like a basketball and not worry about damage. Plus they have some cool colors.

Yeah, Otterboxes are in Oz. My secretaries have them! I just got a leather pouch with magnetic clasp from a vendor in a mall. Mine is in my pocket all day so I didn't want the added bulk of an Otterbox. Also as I still do the occasional delivery I wanted the screen to be covered and the Otterbox only has a clear screen protector and there are all sorts of rocks and bits of steel at the farms I go to!!!! Knowing my luck, in an Otterbox, my phone would fall face down onto a rock!!

Yesterday I bought an Easyswitch Vulcan case in preparation. Like the Otter it has a screen protector, which should do me fine. I'll see how it goes when I actually get the phone.

Hi mp5999,
The dude next to me at work is hanging for a 4s and no doubt will buy it asap, so his will be for sale too.
Damn these fuckers with no kids ! Buy anything they freegan want....grrrrr jealous.

Get a 4, not a 3GS, they don't multitask and are under powered. Everyone who has a 3GS or a 3 can't stand them and want a 4S now. Those with 4's are still very happy with them.

i like android but the htc phone i have lots of problems with. dont get a 2 year contract. i can no longer turn volume up or down, hard to hear me speak sometimes and certain things break off very easily. My last HTC phone had to be replaced 3 times and at the end of my contract the phone messed up again.

My wife and I have iPhone4 phones and have had zero problem with anything other than the occasional app crash. We decided to skip on the 4S because the improvements weren't enough to justify the cost IMO.
Now...the 5 is rumored to be out this fall. We will most likely upgrade then.

One of the probs with Android phones. Support for updates.
[urhttp://

My wife's SE phone is stuck on a crappy version of the OS. The phones on the article are meant to be the best for getting updates but still lag behind. Most others get orphaned pretty quick and get left behind.
Another reason I chose the iPhone after ages of deliberating. Also the aftermarket of things like docks etc. It is a very smart phone. I'm typing on it now on the bus!
