Hi all!
Just call me 'gonnarock' because most of the time, that is what I am going to do...

Let's see what can I tell about myself? I really like Vinnie, and mostly joined this board for its pictures. Er...more specifically the picture in your administrator's avatar...haha.
I want to be one of Vinnie's angels...I also want one of Vinnie's signature model guitars...but if wishes were fishes...
Anyway, its great to meet you all. I look forward to spending some time here.

Thank you for the welcome!
I'm from Adelaide.

I was just noticing the amount of Aussies on here and I have to say I feel quite at home!

This is the first time I have ever joined a forum of Vinnie or talked about him to other fans, so its very new for me.

Welcome to the VVff GonnaRock! Another Aussie is more than welcome here

and you're our first female Aussie Vinnie member

Adelaide... Good memories, I used to buy heaps of kiss merchandise back in the mid 90's from a very cool music store there called Andromeda Music... Best store in Australia, I'm pretty sure it's shut down now... eBay killed off 2nd hand retail business...
Enjoy the forum and welcome!

Ooo really? I do feel honored to represent the female Vinnie Aussie fans! haha...so does this mean...that metaphorically speaking I can have him "all to myself?"
Vinnie via 1989 would be my ideal pick, if I can say such a thing.
I don't know if I have heard of the Andromeda music store, but it sure does sound like a cool place! I would have joined you in hunting some KISS merchandise there for sure.
Thank you again to everyone, you are all too kind to me.

I have been sitting here trying to come up with a great response for that. But all I can think of is that...
He's in good hands with me...
Ahem...actually though really, its more like, I'm the right girl for this job...
XD.
But onto other subjects...
I became a fan of Vinnie from discovering Vinnie Vincent Invasion when I was about 15 or so. I didn't put two and two together that he even had been in KISS! I actually, silly I know, but when I saw the 'Lick It Up' music video, I always thought that Vinnie was Ace! XD haha.
But I really liked the VVI. And I always thought that Vinnie had a very cool look, the pink attire, sometimes the beads in his hair. And I greatly admired his guitar playing. I started playing guitar around the same time and taking some lessons. I've been playing guitar for 7 or 8 years now, mostly traditional rock music like Led Zeppelin, Sabbath, Judas Priest things. But I have dabbled just a bit in some of the shredding type stuff, (Yngwie Malmsteen and Vinnie of course.) But I am not really a shredder, mostly a rhythm player, the soloing is just for fun and I am not that fast. haha.
Probably the most amusing VV related thing I can tell you, is that at my school I was known as the 'VV Groupie.'

This can be explained...haha. For a school occasion I dressed as a 'VV Groupie.' No one knew what was going on, I never tried to stand out, and they didn't know who Vinnie was. He was just another rockstar to them. My outfit must have been pink and bold enough, by the end of the day, my nickname was sealed and the teachers were raising their eyebrows...

I still have those black lacey fingerless gloves too. haha.I'm 21 now, and still a great fan of Vinnie. Very influenced by his guitar playing and his good looks...

Its great to finally talk about him to people who understand what I am rambling about. And know him not just by his name.

Great story Girl! I love hearing that sort of stuff, especially when it's kiss related..! It wasn't easy being a kiss fan in the late 80's in Australia, they were pretty much commercially done for over here with bands like GnR, Poison & Motley taking most of the glory

I wore my Crazy Nights shirt to school religiously for the whole year of '89 amongst a sea of GnR t shirts

I was one of about a two dozen kiss fans at a high scool of 1500 students so I was heavily outnumbered but stood proud as a member of the kiss army!

That is right!

You should stand tall and proud.

Representing bands in that way its really one of the best ways to do it. I loved wearing the VV garb that day, even though not everyone was so pleased...Probably had something to do with also the fact I had streaked my hair pink for the day. XD At least that was the impression the teachers gave. haha. But its all in fun.
by the way, I would LOVE to have a Crazy Nights shirt omg.

Much respect to you for going to the extreme of pink hair streaking! That would have been great

As for the Crazy Nights shirt... It was so worn by the early 2000's (about 13 years after I bought it) that I used it as a workout shirt!

Good Times!

That seems highly appropriate to me for some odd reason.

I mean, the Crazy Nights video is rather athletic. haha. That is great though. Thank you for the respect. lol. It was cool to put the pink streaks in...but when it came time to wash them out, well...I was pink, the bathroom was pink...Everything was a little pink for a while afterwards...

So what you're saying is that you turned your bathroom into the Barbie Dream House with pink walls & vanity

Cool! Molly Ringwald would have loved it

sorry showing my age there, you probably don't even know what I'm talking about

Haha, the Aussies are taking over! XD
Yes, it did look quite like a Barbie Dream House for a bit. Quite nice actually.

I love that movie, Pretty In Pink. haha. I think that Molly Ringwald would have felt right at home. lol. Maybe if I ever streak my hair pink again, I will go for something a little more...perminant. For my hair that is, not the bathroom walls!

Oh cool! Welcome! Black lacy gloves and tops....ah high school! OMG, finally someone who talks about hair styles! Did you love ratting your hair in high school? Flat ironing the wavy strands prevents damage. I love Metallica, and so I got lightning airbrushed nails! Oh god, airbrushed nails are so cool. I think guitars would look good on nails, maybe a pink double v or a polka dot one like Randy Rhoads had.
I love all those John Hughes films with Molly Ringwald. I loved Molly Ringwald's hair color. It went well with her complexion. She wore the right shade of lipstick for pale skin, too.
This is a good place to find Vinnie's 1980s photos

Rock stars in the 80s were looking good: Duff, '80s Vinnie Vincent, Phillip Lewis (oh yeah), Sebastian Bach, Steve Clark, Joooe Elliot, Randy Rhoads....Grrrrrrrr-owl
Enjoy 1983 Vinnie

The Breakfast Club is my favorite of Molly Ringwald's movies too. And not for her but for Blender.

80s movies are great, silly, and fun. haha. They make me smile and laugh...even though I don't think they are always supposed to. XD
I am a happy chipmunk. A most happy chipmunk.

A veil of disorder you say? I am a karate chipmunk, no veil shall come to stop me!
And hi KissMyAss!

Yay! I think that we are going to be great friends, you are speaking my language by mentioning Phil Lewis, Joe Elliott, and RANDY RHOADS. OMG. I do quite like talking about hairstyles. haha. I have a great thing for hair...the longer, the blacker, the bigger the BETTER.

And I think our main man...or at least he is my main man, Vinnie, delivers in all of these departments.
But...about nails. I have a few nail art brushes, and I didn't paint guitars on my nails, but I did do them up black with white polka dots in honor of Randy's flying v. That was fun, and yesterday I bought this blue nail polish that is the same colour as this really cute colour that Ace Frehley was wearing. And of course, the obligatory hot pink polish to match Vinnie's.

That's some great hair Dannii, it would have been interesting watching Pink Champagne walking down George St, Sydney together as a group wearing the glam gear back in the day

Have you got any music to share with us, I'd be interested in hearing you guys... I think the only other Aussie glam band at the time was the Candy Harlots & that's about it...

The lead guitarist of the Candy Harlots, Marc Dé Hugar
was in Pink Champagne for about four hours. Long story, I'll elaborate later. We are still friends (KISSEed & made up after 20 years
) & I still talk to Leeno Dee & the ordinal Singer Mark Easton. At the Candy Harlots shoots of the new version of thir Single (new cause they had aleady done one with the old line up of the two Marks) ( I prefer the first one...classer more real & I love the pitch shifted simple lead brake,,,the second one is little a try hard, wanna be bikers version.
) we got into a punch up with the Harlots cause their New Singer Aiz (I sux cocks in hell) Lynch decided in his wisdom to have a go at us while they were on stage videoing their clip....Dickhead of the highest order. He said something like, 'Oh it's good to see the guys from Pink Champagne here...looks like they can't afford their own clip so they are trying to get into our one.' It was like it all happened in slow motion. My brother, the cute blond/white haired chick
in the photos & the drummer of the band, turned, looked at me & we both run up on to the stage swing punches at everyone on the stage...We were escorted out by the bouncers. We came back with palings ripped out of a near by fence (with as many nails in them as we could muster)...Once again we were meet by opposition...the bouncers...I got my Revenge when Pink Champagne got asked to host a prize give away (a car) at the Cobra Club in Parramatta. The Harlots were playing in a near by club/pub, the General Burke...I got a T Shirt made up with the name Aiz & a circle with the a line through the middle of name Aiz, (Just like Vince Neil did when he was feuding with Axl Rose). The trap was set, the word spread fast...The moron shows up & tries to have a go...Mind you, I'm like 6'2" & this turd is like 5 foot nothing & I'm got Rambo Bowie Knives down the sides of my Cowboy boots...Nothing happen, cause when he started getting smart the bouncers escorted him out & I was asked not to peruse any action as not to give the Metal clubs a band name....IT wasn't easy being pretty...Made you tuff though.

Haha! No one fux with Dannii! Great story, thanks for sharing that..! It would have been interesting had the bouncers not been there for the Harlots video shoot

especially if fence palings were involved

Got some songs on 2 inch & ¼inch reels...Need to get them dumped to pro tools or wav...One of these days.
Yer man, too many movies like The Warriors, Class 84. Was totally into that stuff. Learn to be a tuff mofo being Glam. I didn't get pick on that much & when I got given shit & gave back bags upon bags of shit. Don't worry, I had my share of being KOed. Once I was rammed face first into a color bond fence at a Party in Marylands (I was a Dick for going cause the night b4 I smashed this trash head, at a Frozen Dobermans gig. KOed him hard at a Pub @ Seven Hills, cause he blew me a kiss...After he blew me a kiss, I walked up to him, tapped him on the shoulder & hit him as hard as I could, straight in the face. The place exploded, like one of the spaghetti western movies, where everyone is hit everyone.) Anyways, my friend Matty Boomstick & his girlfriend & I some how get to my cars. We took off just as the police got there. The next nite at the party at Marylands, the guy that blew my a kiss, his friends were there. & I went to my car to get a Pretty Boy Floyd tape. They were waiting for me. So they got me. They smacked me head first against one of the pillars of the color bond fence. Whole 40 meters of fence collapse. When I come to, my mate, Matty Boomsticks is smashing people with a bass guitar he found, there a fires lite. Again, it's all hell breaking loose. They guys that through me head first into the fence had to go to court & pay for all the damages...Ahhh to be young & insane. Good times, good times

It was a different time then...you really didn't think about the consequences. I never really drank & never did drugs. Just wasn't my thing. (I think in the back of my head I knew if I was going to be in a Glam band & be the real deal, that I'd have to have my wits about me & be ready if someone would want to have a go). But anyway, being young, you'd just didn't think in the spur of the moment. And also you'd recover faster from injuries. I still have friends that are behaving like that. I don't really go out that much any more, but when I do & I see them, they are all busted up or totally written off due to alcohol or drugs or both. They'll never learn.
