i had the usa made and it was much darker wood, like dark caramel. Its a great playing bass and Australian Lacewood, I think its called London Plane wood in most of Europe (or at least London).

Surely this is 1990 or 89 at earliest. Kip wasn't even a pro in 85 and I think the winger bass started in 1990 or late 89. http://www.ebay.com/itm/280798442426?redirect=mobile

I don't think you can really hear the 5th one in rock apart from a soft tune like I still love you.

I have acquired so many strings throughout the years that I wouldn't know.

It would have to be incredibly expensive! Regular bass strings run from $20 to $40 or even $70!!! Being a bassist can be an expensive job!!

 That looks wicked! Do you play with a plectrum or fingers?
I can't play a bass with a plectrum to save. haha. But on my guitar I struggle with finger picking. There must not be a compromise.

i dont really play. i just had a winger lacewood bass and wanted to have tj pay tribute to it in a weird way. i loved the sound of that bass. the little bass i play would be with my thumb and fingers, lol. I dont like the sound as much with a pick.

Me too. I don't feel comfortable playing with a plectrum because of the spacing of the strings, it feels so awkward. haha

I need to practice my technique more with finger picking on my guitar. Believe it or not, Vinnie's Metal Tech video really did help me with my finger picking. Like the scales he gave, and how he explained it I did understand it so much clearer. So, thank you for that Vinnie! :D
But my actual arpeggios and classical pieces still need some focus because finger picking with the pick is easier than all fingers.

No no. You like the same sound as me, probably a lot of people like a bass sound to be like that. :)

Ooo well I have an appreciation for sounds like that. Its very strange, my musical interests.
But mostly in guitars, they have to be pretty loud and proud. haha. Drums have to be pretty loud too. But there are times when I like to listen to softer music. More mellow stuff. :) I know some people who say they like everything, all types of music, but I really do. haha. Only kind of music I cannot find an interest in is rap. haha.
