Love the quirkiness, the interior reminds me of the Citroen CX:

i drove one and i didn't make it up a steep hill. You are ok if you put your foot down at the bottom but if there is traffic on the hill or a car infront of you slows down - thats it. You have to turn back down the hill and try again.

Omg Dino! Your taste in cars is classic! That hill story is great!

the noise in the cab is crazy loud too. You can update it from 600cc with a 126 BIS engine which as 704cc from this car and you can just make the hill usually.

I think no car has ever been sold in the states with an engine under one litre in size.

So where does this appeal for obscure europen cars from the 70's come from?

Re: citroen karin

Like the look and most are cheap . A lot recently got scrapped in Europe sadly because governments gave you credit to scrape them valued at around $4000 usd towards a new car even if only worth $100 .
I think they made good money shipping them to China to recycle.

LOL LOL LOL.........i've owned a 126, went all the way to Greece with it(and i came back too :P.....so many stories to tell!).Btw, because of the way the engine was working( and the engine cooling was air based, instead of water based, in fact the 126 bis was a failure because of this), you could go uphill no matter how steep it was.The baggage section was good just to bring pizzas, no more than that. But it was a great city car, no problem in parking. When the tank was full you could go on for a while. It didn't even required a ny filter when the unleaded fule became the only availble one in Europe.

The 600 in your Av was very popular in the 60's, it was a sort of a symbol of good wealth for families with normal or limited income.

this one, instead:
Image

Became sort of famous because of a very comical and successful movie, "Fantozzi"(later it had many sequels, and the car was a also a staple)

btw , 126 I have to take out the front seat and sit on the back one to fit in.. 127 I have only the problem of the gear stick in my crotch.

i understand the problem, believe me  ,it was difficult to fit into the front seat.......... no mention do other things..........

the citroen had some futuristic features for the times, shame they didn't keep being in the forefront......

pink wiz.. send that to Ace's webmaster. he will love that. That car is ace all the way.

Ankh, I like pain and agony when i drive. no pain .. no gain. and no gain even more pain.

Ankh again, yes I hate current Citroens, so safe. The last Citroen that was ok (but why too comfortable) was the XM.

funny how for that futuristic shot they used a 1918 pistol.

Yeah, sometimes drivin the 126 was a struggle.Once i was drivin my entire band plus three guitars.

One nice car from the 70's was this one:

just three seats, and typical strange steering wheel:

Hey Dino, do you like SAAB,,,they look like a vacuums. Anyways, they gone bust (mainly due to GM's doing). Might be time to start to harvest parts if anyone has one. Heard the Chinese put an offer into to by SAAB from GM, but GM not playing ball.
