Paul is just scat singing to come up with melodic and lyrical ideas. It's funny how incohrerant mutterings can shape words into songs with a story/meaning.

Maybe since Paul and Vinnie were collaborating on this song, Vinnie wrote the lyrics and Paul wrote the music. If this would be so, that could explain that this demo would be Paul's music demo, getting an idea down for the melody of Vinnie's words?

The music sounds like Vinnie to me too. I think Vinnie did a lot with this song.
