Is it just me or isn´t that a photo-shopped pic of Gene guy holding bass in the kitchen?
look how superimposed that "Gene head" looks on that body...I smell fraud...or am I wrong?

I think it's real. What you're seeing is the weirdness surrounding what Gene is calling his hair these days!

LOL, very true Vic! I think some of his 'hair' must be sprayed on or something! Still fighting the fight it would appear. On the topic of hair and wigs, have you seen Michael Angelo Batio's head? That must be a wig! I'd say Vinnies is more natural looking!

Only way to really find out would be to ask Gene personally if he in fact Did Pose for the picture,
but, then again, why would he do it (pose)to help somebody else make 20+ thousand dollars?

You make a good point, I think I read somewhere that Gene refuses to sign autographs because people end up selling them on ebay...maybe I'm thinking of someone else though! The bass does seem to fit the bill though.

Anyway, $30k?! pah! You could get 3 guitarmageddon guitars with that plus some change

My guess is the pic was taken when he first let go of the bass, and this guy has it now to prove what it is. I don't think you would bother to visit Gene with his old bass and ask for a pic to help sell it again. It is what it is and at some point Gene took a last pic with it.

Unless I'm buying it directly from Gene, I'll pass.

That looks like Gene's House and it also looks like a recent picture (Within the last couple of years)

Gene is wearing a ring=indicates that pic is as recent as his wedding, what´s that? last 6 months?

Seller has a pic of Gene holding bass that´s supposedly taken in the past couple of Months, so...
somebody traveled with the bass (if owner and bass was at that time in Germany) and rang door bell
,got Gene to pose with it, but not sign it, and that was it? then took it back to Germany....
Lottsa old beat up Gibson Grabbers and Rippers out there to molest and make look really worn.
and there´re relatively cheap too....

Perhaps seller has all his paperwork nice and tidy and all that? who knows...

Just saying, I´m not thinking of buying anything, there´s just so much fakes out there today in regards
to art, guitars, vintage cars, ( prevoiously owned by such and such movie stars etc) watches.
Hard to verify unless the serial numbers and what not, was documented since the orig owner...

whoops, sorry, looked more closely at the pics, Gene´s autograph IS on the back of
the bass, so, does that make it more or less believable?
I guess one has to ask Gene to be sure.
