Great find Dino!!!

I love Unmasked and this song is great. Interesting to hear Gerard talk about it.

Here's the full original demo that Vini Poncia brought to the band. A few of the lyrics are different. This is gold!

Awesome. Always loved this song. The Demo songs very close to the KISS version.

I'd always wondered who G McMahon was. I read the song credits on my Unmasked tape a lot!

I was never a fan of this song. Not that it's bad, it's just not "KISS" in my opinion.

It def sounds 80s pop...but that's just a style that wasn't kind to KISS.

Truely not a real KISS song but the original is sounding nice :) better than the KISS version I think...

I like it as a Kiss song. They played it live on the Unmasked tour. It really fit the album well.

Did Paul play the solo live because he did on Unmasked

He did! Same for Shandi on that tour.

We've been talking on another thread about Paul's ability as a guitarist. My stance is that Paul is a pretty good guitarist...but not a technical one. Not innovative or advanced. Not that he needs to be. I enjoy his playing, but don't put him on the same level as Vinnie or Bruce.

Having said that, how did his solo on these songs sound in a live setting?

They sounded fine, pretty much like the record. This is from the Sydney 1980 show.

The band has not played these songs since then. Paul has played Shandi for us but only chords by himself.

I like Shandi...but again, I just don't think it's very KISS. It would've been great for a second Paul Stanley solo album! Just too poppy. I know people will say, "Well, Beth was pop." I guess it was, but for me Beth was truly unique. Sure it wasn't KISS's normal hard rock, but it also wasn't trying to sound like any other genre that was popular. It was truly unique and that's why I could get behind it.

Pauls solos don't sound fluid to me but always good.
