You can not scratch or chip that finish. Hard as nails. Rare. I have only seen two others and never that color.

Ah, ok. "Classic" - I wonder how many Wayne made. Thanks for the info. Dino. You're the Ritz king! 8)

I used to know a lot. I am guessing less than 10 zolatone classics, maybe as low as 4.. Ed roman used to have some classic series models with normal paint.

i remember one Ritz guitar with the surface made of sea shells........looked great. However the reviewer did slag off the headstock style, sayng that it looked amateurish next to the wonderful body finish

Kerrang in 1988. They didn't like the one they reviewed as the headstock was not painted. I actually like the fender natural look. You can not review them as a group of guitars because everyone was a different experiment , you.may not like thr sound of one and love the next. . Wayne had lots of wood and pickups to test left over from Gibson.. the first ritz shell model was actually.a Gibson.
Everyone sounds and plays differently. Most has shaeller pick ups or Duncan pafs but some had Gibson and Di marzio. They used about 10 different body woods too.
