I want to improve Vinnies Wikipedia page. Add more information, photos etc. So basically what we need are references from Kiss books like Kiss and Tell etc. Properly sourced information not just gossip articles. Also, if anyone can upload a photo of Vinnie taken on their personal camera, that would be great.

I've been banned from submitting to Wikipedia believe it or not.
I was trying to get a page about my band LIZARDS FROM AFAR into it. They kept cutting it. I kept putting it back in. So I challenged it with one of the "lead" moderators who acted like a total power-mad shit-tickler. We exchanged a few angry emails and then I went immature on them.

Every day I would have another friend create an account and re-add my LIZARDS FROM AFAR post. The guy contacted me and demanded I quit it. I told him to go F himself and that it would be uploaded every day and there was nothing he could do about it. Unfortunately I only had 11 friends that were willing to add it...so after 11 days it all ended.

But at the very least, I made them miserable for a few weeks.

Unless your band is notable and has reliable sources from media outlets, theres not much chance they're going to allow it.

I believe vv got banned too.

I knew I didn't have a chance, but I was working an angle that we were the world's first completely virtual band. According to their own bylaws, they are supposed to contact you if they are going to delete a post you've made. At that point you can request an opportunity to defend the merit of your posting to one of their "review boards".
I followed their protocols to the letter and this particular power-mad moderator, acting like a total dick, told me he didn't agree and that he would not forward my request to the review board.

It was only after that I began fucking with them.

Editing wikipedia is a waste of time, even if you have a source for your additions they will still be removed by said power hungry mods. Any new additions have to be popular among people in the millions. I doubt any of you guys heard of the Angry Video Game Nerd but he has videos on youtube that have well over 2 million views. Someone made a wiki page and within a week they were calls to take it down.

Wiki and Jimbo Wales can both suck a big fat one.

The idea is sound, I just can't abide little people with no lives sitting in a basement enforcing their will on others because they feel inadequate, have nothing going on and make themselves feel better by shutting down others.

Most instructors in college do not allow the wikipedia as an information source.Wiki has a pretty bad reputation for incorrect information.

Maybe, but its in the top 5 most visited websites on the Internet.

When I need some quick info, it's the place I always start. Then, if it's something I need some serious info about I start looking at other sites as well. I would never use it as my sole source.
