Serious question but how does Vinnie get by financially? I assume his wife works. I find it hard to believe that Vinnie made enough money to retire on.

He could have been quite well off, with his talent, if only he had the personality and business sense to go with it, rather than what actually happened.

We have been figuring Diane has been helping out a lot over the years. In the past he would have been getting some royalties from his Kiss days but a lot of that has gone now with recent legal rulings against him.

He tries to sell tunes in Nashville and was living off royalties and his wife.
No evidence he has sold many tunes and if he does he doesn't file it in his returns or bankruptcy claims.
I am guessing he lives off very little and maybe even less now he is seperating. Sources close to him suggest he will look for another woman to help him out finacially. Felix is still friends and may help him out but even he said vv was not so innocent.

I think in another post we were guesstimating that he maybe was making $30,000 to $40,000 a year on the high-side from his KISS royalties. (A totally made up number.) That would probably be enough to get by on in the area he lives, but now he won't even be getting that.

I'm not so sure. When I first heard about the $81k to be paid back via royalties it read to me that Kiss were taking ownership back of the LIU publishing as full payment, so that means he would never get anything again.

I haven't looked at it too closely since.

According to the paper work his royalties were used to pay off the kiss debt already, The appeal was to stop Gene from getting the royalties to pay his lawyers. Remember he sued Kiss the record company and Gene. So each was separate but could use precedence because he was suing for the same thing. But each had there own lawyer bills.
So they had to go at him one at a time. So some of the debt was paid, then he appealed then lost yet again so now they are being used to pay off the debt again. I think he is the only musician that has sued for back payment on royalties or what ever and lost. But his case was based on " because I said so" and no evidence.

I'm not going to claim to truly know, but I thought it sounded like KISS were going for complete ownership.

The only way they could get ownership is if Vinnie said ok here it is to satisfy the debt. Royalties are generative like income from a job. They dont have a definitive value like a car or a house or guitar, so if you owe me money
I cant force you to sell the rights or as property to settle a debt. All I can do is garnish it's income till the debt is satisfied. So on paper the royalties are directed to me the debtor then revert back after the debit is clear.

That all I understood. I'm just saying that, when I read the legal gibberish, it read like Gene's lawyer was suggesting he would very graciously drop his monetary claims if the court gave him Vinnie's share of the royalties. I agree with your take, but it just read differently.

You have to feel sorry for him, but he has only himself to blame. He could have easily been a millionaire.

I could only feel sorry for him if I didn't know.what shit he gets upto. I feel sorry for his condition though.
