Nothing major. Just wanted to share. I have some old Frehley's Comet shirts that I should add as well.

I was in the fan club back in the day. I think I missed out the issue where some internal troubles caused problems.

Such an exciting time when ace came back. Not that he set the world on fire but great times for kiss fans. 87 was a great year.

I've heard the song "Rock Soldiers" and thought "Boah, what a killer tune Ace made" and you haven't had itunes or the internet so I don't see Ace about 5 years. And then I looked on the album and see his face and great condition. That was amazing for me in this time I remember very well this time...

Yeah rock soldiers is amazing. If it had been a kiss tune it would still be played today I think.

I think Frehley's Comet was a bunch of missteps IMO.
- Wrong record company. (Didn't have the funds or the muscle to make a big noise.)
- Wrong songs. (I love most of the songs on the album, but I've also heard all the bootlegs and there are a TON of unreleased songs that were better material than what ended up on the first album.)
- Wrong lead single. (The song is a little clunky. Rock Soldiers should've been the lead.)
- Releasing the Live +1 album? I love it, but it's half a concert at best and the record company didn't promote it at all!
- The live video? No promotion. I had to special order it because nobody was carrying it.

I think when the first album tanked, Ace was done. He reverted back to his HEAVY drinking and drugging, which resulted in SECOND SIGHTING being a major disappointment.

erg2: You're talking about Live ...+4? I have that. I remember when it first came out I begged my mom for it. I have a video I bought where Ace is filming on the way to that show and around the hotel and back stage and stuff. The Ace Vision video tape I have is good. I don't remember much about it except he's playing in a small place and does a sit down interview in between songs.

genebaby: The internal problems you mention ... is that the deal with Gordon G.G. Gebert supposidly ripping the fan club off? I remember the original Frehley's Comet fan club closed and later they started the Rock Soldiers fan club which I guess Gordon G.G. Gebert was running. They sent me stuff all the time asking me to join. I finally send money to join and I never got anything at all in return. So for many years I thought Ace ripped me off. It wasn't until a few years ago that I found out on an Ace Frehley fan site/message board that it was actually Gordon G.G. Gebert who did it to a lot of people. Anyways, that's what I was told and who knows if it's the truth. I'm a huge Ace Frehley fan so it's easier for me to believe it wasn't him that did it lol.

Yup. Live...+4. (Which was originally to be titled Live In London. Do you know how many places I looked for a video called Live In London before a nice clerk told me that it was just the Live +4 video?)

I never joined any of the fan clubs. But I did want to see that AceVision video but could never find it in a store.

Ozone, ACE ripped you off. GG proves it in his books and John Regan confirmed it to me in person.

By everyone else's accounts, Ace was (still is?) a total and utter dirtbag...and I use that adjective very specifically.

erg2 - Before I sent money to join the Rock Soldiers fan club I ordered a shirt and that Ace Vision video. That's where I got it from. I finally got a tape to dvd thing so I should burn it on to dvd before it gets ruined.

There is a funny video, I think it's Acevision, where Ace is being explained financial things, like where the money goes and why am I not rich. That's my hazy memory of it, I should try and find it. I think John Regan was there, the poor guy, he suffered with Ace. It's too hard to respect Ace these days.

Regan isn't TOTALLY innocent . He was BANKING on a KISS reunion. He was putting his stock into Ace and lost.

That is why Ace didn't give him any shit for releasing 12 Picks.

I sent checks to both ace and vinnies fan clubs.. both cashed the checks and I received nothing. I sent two checks to.vvs fan club in Maryland , one in 87 and one in June 88 . Nothing !!!
I heard Dave was over vinnie by summer 88 anyway.

I saw that video with ace .. not for a while though. At least ace tours and puts out material.

I also think trouble walking and the first frehleys comet was way better than most kiss records of that time. Second sighting I never cared too much for.

I have the Ace Is Back and He Told You So t-shirt, used to wear it to high school. Kiss and Ace were not popular at all back then here. It was Metallica, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Motley Crue.

Yeah I had the bottom two shirts, I guess they are still in my dads storage .
Vic , yeah not many high school kids liked kiss, I have no idea who asylum, crazy nights and hits when platinum.

They were all closet Kiss fans! It took guts to wear a shirt to school.

Damn Dino, I wanna go to that storage locker and loot it. All those cool guitars and stuff like this !!!!

My parents divorced in New Orleans and I had to move with my mom and left most things with my dad. He says he hasn't thrown this stuff out.
If I had known t shirts would be worth something I would have been more on it.

Like I said the band shot shirt of frehleys comet was for the live plus 4 gig in London in march 1988. I don't think it was used for the second sighting tour.
