Anybody know Michael Kiske, ex Helloween singer?

Fantastic voice and a funny guy, though he led Helloween down the garden path a bit towards the end, though I still dig all his albums with them.

His first solo album was very cool, I was excited when it came out. Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden and his old band mate Kai Hansen guested on it.

He wrote the awesome song Always for his old band mate Ingo from Helloween who suffered from schizophrenia and sadly committed suicide.

Shows off his killer voice and range. I actually put my usually terrible musical ear to work and worked out how to play this back in the day. My tab is still found on the net!

Another song I like up to about 6:22 is this one. God he sings high. I don't usually like this kind of stuff but Michael is a special singer.

It was pure coincidence that I lately took notice about Michael Kiske. Under the name "Place Vendom" he released two or maybe more albums on Frontiers Records.
Although Helloween is a german band, I never was a fan of them. No doubt that Kiske is a good singer but his voice is a little bit too soft for my taste.

The italian label Frontiers Records by the way is a place where many of the 80´s hardrock musicians found a chance to release new stuff.

Don't like his voice that much. A bit thin for my tastes. Still he would have been better as Bruce's replacement in Maiden than Blaze "yuck, spew, burp" Bailey was!

I remember seeing a video from the first album, back when there was headbangers ball on Saturday Nights here in the states. Shot in the woods at night I think....I should check them out now. I never really paid much attention....but since most new bands suck (sound like my dad now) I find myself going back and checking out bands I may have overlooked.

Scorpions beside Helloween in the 80's used to be one of the most famous band on Europe.I love the rhythm of love. And the same Michael used to like this one.
