The first Sony Playstation was a highly over engineered item made to kill opposition. It had some parts in their that were only used in $5000 CD players. Its now being converted easily to a high end cd player. These things cost about $20 on ebay and sound amazing, like at least a $1000 player. That my top tip for today. Remember only the Playstation 1 SCPH-1001 and maybe the 1002 as well.

I still have mine, not sure what exact version/model it is, will have to check.

The funny thing is Nintendo was originally developing a CD based add on for the SNES which never came through. That add on eventually became the playstation....
